d: there should be an alternative to overcome bad RNG such as more quests, or an FA, or crafting.

Adding more quests or these set buildings to the FA would result in some players who would spend diamonds and do all extras(me)gaining potentially game breaking sets. I got the whole set. I am looking at the gold league so
2 Pilgrims Manors + probably an additional marble and plank building + 2 plazas....

And you want to add buildings to this by giving me more quests to do for more building or more buildings in the FA (I am assuming no one would be happy with the stupid 1×4 pieces here)? I am strangely okay with the idea, that does not mean I think it is a good thing.

I would have no problem with these pieces cycling through the MA as one onlys. It might reduce over all event participation so I could see Inno objecting.

No. There shouldn't.
Good talk, solid input, very insightful, truly eye-opening, thanks.

Easy fix: lockout pieces beyond the full set behind a paywall/RNG.
Crafting recipes like the phoenix bases only show up for those who don't have one placed/in inventory so it's certainly possible to apply this to both FA rewards and MA crafting.

I've had approximately predictable results in this event so far.

I saved my event currency until I hit chapter 5 a few days ago, so I have 2141 left. I have always chosen the chests most efficient to get staffs. I have gotten the 300 extra currency once and the smaller additional currency amounts twice. I have 155 staffs and am in the amateur league on Arendyll world. Unless I have particularly good luck when the 10 KP AW prize comes around and I spend most of my remaining event currency, it looks like I'm going to very narrowly miss that last building. That's disappointing for me.

Okay. So everyone can target the dailies or specific chest prizes and they will just keep getting more quests = more currency = more chests to open until they get the full set. I am okay with this too but it would be easy to exploit.

No sarcasm, l really do like this as a solution.

So what? INNO already doesn't give a flying rodent's gak about "balance" anyways since they allow mass cheating via push accounts, despite those supposedly being against the rules! If players want to build a city of all sets & Fire Chickens, I say let them.
Ranking is completely meaningless, and doesn't matter. There is no PvP feature that allows attacking/plundering of other players' cities, so who gives a feth if someone wants to grind out a 1000% atk bonus every week?

Let players decide how they want to play the game, instead of this mickey mouse garbage of, "everyone can only have max of 1 of something so that no one's fee-fee's get hurt."

I dare say that players on the whole threw a helluva lot more cash at the game during events like the original chickens & the Winter Market events, because those prizes were amazing and worth spending some disposable 'gaming budget' on.
Now though? Sure this event has a solid prize, but overall we're honestly lucky now if we get even 2 really decent event prizes per year... (last year Halloween's Witch Hut was a clear 'must have', with the Moon Bear being okay'ish for the daily kp - though only because the devs keep nerfing kp generation at every turn!)

Stop nerfing everything, and just turn the power level dial up to 11 already! (...and keep on cranking it dammit!!;))

@The Unbeliever ,
Very well said ..... there is something to be said for the thinking, lets make a game
and see how far ppl can take it.... its fun to watch....

Why on 1 hand is 2 forms of cheating allowed, yet the biggest moneymaker Inno
has is premium expansions , therefore Land should be the 1 thing that never counts
against a player ...

Because the Devs, don't actually play the game, so they have no clue! And I would be willing to bet that none of them spend any money on the game. So it is no skin off their nose. Their revenue will continue to shrink until their isn't enough to continue the game and then the Devs will blame it on other factors, for why they have to stop developing the game, it's as clear as day that this game is headed down that path! How many long time players have quit in the last year? How many new players quit shortly after starting because they soon figure out it is nothing but a money grab! When it comes to adding Quality of Life things that players have asked for it takes them years to add it, such as being able to see your BP inventory, but when it comes to nerfing everything thay are lightning quick!

1. I'm not even American
2. I was a kid when I had someone else writing me paychecks, did you spend your earliest checks on anything wise?
3. I retired last year at 40 after working in a seasonal (May-Oct) industry where I put in 20-30h a week the last 5 years.
4. The things I got excited about "buying" the last couple of years was 4-month long vacations overseas.

But yeah, keep buying those lotto tickets, bragging about your mat leave, and looking down on me.
How dare he call you a "dirty, filthy, American", LOL!! Appaerntly, @CrazyWizard has forgotten that there is a reason people from all over the globe strive to come to the USA, even people from Socialistic countries, they are more than willing to give all that up to be a part of the American Dream! The United States is called the Melting Pot of the World for a reason, just saying!

Oh Wise One
Y'know, I was holding out hope that today's daily quest would be changed from tournament encounters to spire encounters. Guess the joke's on me for thinking INNO might collectively be able to purchase a clue.

Nope, Inno won't bother with that. Besides, when the next tournament starts on Tuesday, there will still be 16 hours left in the event, or 41 hours after the start of game day today. That is less than half the time it takes me to scout a province, so if I did not already have some ready to go, I would just wait until Tuesday to finish the final two quests.

The expected return is not real. It is possible to get very few instances of free SK and even possible to get 0 instances of free SK.

6 of the 9 Beacons offer an actual return of 26.67 per SK or higher.

If a player's Beacon distribution favors these 6 Beacons and if the player doesn't manage to hit the free SK often, or when they do it is only for the lower values then it doesn't really matter what choices the player makes.

Yes, you can minimize your odds of being unlucky, but you can't avoid luck completely. At the end of the day this is a luck based event.
I agree with you 100 percent. The "expected" return is not logical. It is merely the "average" return and that is very different from "expected". Most people will not have exactly "average" luck. Half will have more and half less. That isn't the way to run an event.

Sounds so american, buy, buy buy, buy, buy, buy, buy. there is more in life than working and buying.

I work to live, I do not live to work.
I never mind working but it will never be my life goal.

Guess thats where I am from we work 32-36 hours(but a very high productivity) have 20 mandatory must take leave days by law and 5 leave days. maternity leave, paternity leave, payed sick leave, and protections agains being fired for no good reason and other goodies.

I love my life. and I do not have to be exited if I get my next pay, instead i'll be exited about all the fun things I can / will do once corona is gone.
You seem to be lucky enough to live in a first-world country that is not America. Congrats. We Americans look forward to our paychecks because most of us are one illness away from bankruptcy. Scoffing at Americans for a "buy buy buy buy" attitude does not help when the main thing we're buying is the stuff that you get automatically without thinking about it, like health care. As I said, congrats.

Flippers just flip
For me I hope they keep it this tight in the future, I like the suspense of shall we make it or not.
How far can we go, and how (un)lucky do we get.

I like the fact you have to make choices, its not a close your eyes bash buttons and success, but plan ahead and think.

It really is exciting to see how far we get. I came up short one grand prize on a previous event. I didn't have any diamonds for extra currency because I had already spent them all on expansions and extra builders.

I was ready this time! I saved all my diamonds and joined a couple of FS that are a little more active in tourney and spire.

It looks like I won't need my diamonds this time, but I'm ready for the next event!:D

I'm so frustrated - I rarely get to the end of an event - doing well on this one and now they put a time wait on - I feel defeated as I played hard to get to the end and now it looks like I may not make it - what's the point?

I would think if you just hit the daily quest lockout, you should be at 74/75 quests just as I am? Tonight's quest will be 75/75. Now getting the grand prize even if one reaches 75/75, that appears to be a matter of either luck or diamonds (purchased or otherwise).

The time limit doesn't affect your ability to complete the quest event. Everyone is on the same time limit. You've caught up to the game, and when you open the last one you'll have slightly over a day to complete it. That should easily be doable. Good luck.

For me this event has been business as usual. All I had to do was show up and do my homework. I have managed to obtain tons of free stuff, including the complete set - and that was not only in my Chapter 5 city but also in two freshly started cities that were in Chapter 1 at the beginning of the event.
