Can't produce night essence. There is a red exclamation point on a scroll, it tells me my storage is full or disconnect it

If I remember right, you can make Night Essance before your Fairy Portal is high enough level to store it, You might want to check to see if your portal is the right level to store it.

This exact same question was asked a couple days ago. Which was also asked numerous times before. The game really ought to put a warning before you make Night Essence saying that you can't actually store the stuff if you can't at that point in time. Hint! Hint! Prolific posters! Please make that suggestion!
