I can't get my Academies to work. Are they supposed to be attached to a specific street or other building?

Chapter 10. Why wont my academies activate? Do they need to be attached to something besides a street?

They need to be touching the Campus. Only the Wisdom Square needs to connect to a road, everything else needs to touch the Campus. Here is a good resource.
