Crystal Tournament ,enemy frogs.

They have been in the game for over nine weeks now. We had to deal with them in the last Crystal tournament. Basically, if you are not advanced enough in the game to have 3-star mage and heavy melee troops, you may have trouble. My 3-star mage-type troops from the Training Grounds make easy work of the 3-star frogs, as long as there are not too many enemy light melee troops in the mix. And when you have a mix of frogs and light melee, with no enemy mage troops, your heavy melee does well. A side note, if the frogs are still beating you, the map layout may be heavily to your disadvantage, and that is hard to work around sometimes.

Helps to note at the time of some of those threads that there was a known bug that applied our buffs to the enemy. So those threads need to be taken lightly in that context. The current tournament is a fairer test of the changes as the bug has been solved.

Granted for smaller towns it is always tough facing off against 3 star troops when you only have 1 and 2 star troops. That difference is only exaggerated more when their troops are ranged and yours are not.

Even with the battle boost bug fix ..... Frog Princes have overtaken MistWalkers at the top of the heap for my most despised enemy troops!

Banshees work quite well, this is true -- I seem to get 2 or 3 dogs accompanying those blasted frogs, which rip my banshees to shreds.
Ahh well -- will keep working at it to find a good combination to make it reasonable ... I don't get enough 8 hour instants to be burning through a few extra queues replenishing troops for crystal, scrolls, and dust.

Other option .. scale back to a more reasonably sustainable effort .... I may be overextending a bit.

Many thanks for the feedback and help I have received from the good folks here along the way!

When Frog Princes are accompanied by dogs, Vallorian Champions can take care of them with relative ease, even in 6* rounds. VCs are not available until mid-chapter 15 though, and I can't say how much worse 2* Vallorian Guards would be in this situation.

These set ups frequently come with a couple of mages too .. which I'm still juggling to find the right combination / set up to manage (auto fight .. manual is far, far too slow)

I have several vallorian valor and grounds of orc strategist buildings spitting out free specialists -- the units auto-upgrade when the tech is unlocked.

Discussing potential units is well and good for when one is able to train the units -- dealing with these frogs at mid Amuni progress (and going slowly at that) is what I'm finding a challenge.

But they can be obtained by crafting their building from the MA.
They can, but MM was talking specifically about the 3-star variant, which do still have to be unlocked in order to produce.

To that end, it's pretty much a wash between 3* paladins and 2* VGs. My recommendation is to train whatever you can produce more quickly. Some fights suffer heavy losses due to terrain. I'm also using priests quite often, for most battles that have no more than 1 dog. Banshees might be slightly better in these situations, but I have a 1:33 training time in my barracks compared to 2:20 in my TG so I'm sticking firmly with priests to cover any mage needs.

You may want to invest a bit in Victory Springs AW. I do remember times when my TG produced about 50% slower than the rest of the military producers (well, that was most of the game). It was terrible.

Haven't gotten around to maxing it yet. Life's hard and slow with only one account, you know!
