Does anyone understand Training Speed

Does training speed have a unit of measure? If I double my training speed does my time to create a given number of troops get cut in half?
Does my Barracks training speed have the same unit of measure as my Training ground and Mercenary Camp, assuming there is a unit of measure?
I ask because I have the following data and it makes no sense to me.
DescriptionBasic Training SpeedAW PowerIncreased Training SpeedTime to Train one Training Size
Level 13 Needles (Level 33 Barracks)350+50%5251hr57
Level 13 Victory Springs (Level 24 Training Ground)370+50%5551hr50
Level 13 Flying Academy (Level 16 Merc Camp)350+50%5251hr50
My Barracks has a training speed of 525 and makes a training size of troops in 1hr57 while my Merc Camp with the same size takes only 1hr50. Then my Training Ground has a training speed of 555 and also takes 1hr50. I don't know what I should be expecting. I could have sworn that my training time for my Barracks was 1hr58 before I upgraded my Needles to level 13 and expected it to drop to 1hr50 like the others, but it dropped to 1hr57, which is virtually no change. It appears that training speed is a unitless number that gives no meaningful information other than that higher is faster. But I'd much appreciate if someone who understands it could give some information about how training speed could be used to calculate anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know how they came up with this, but training speed works out to be the number of troops that are trained in 12 minutes.
Wasn't the very first Barrack at L1 training 1 (one) unit like a swordsman in 12 minutes (so 5 in an hour), thus representing minimal possible production speed?

Thanks for your response, but I'm not finding that to be the case in my city. I'm getting different training times even for the same training speed.

Level 37 Barracks and a level 9 Needles give me a training speed of 619. This translates into a time of 2 hours and 4 minutes with my training size of 6438 per slot. Base training speed for level 37 Barracks is 450, so when I get my Needles to level 11 also, the bonus speed will go from +37.5% to +45%, or another 7.5% increase in training speed of 34 points to a 653 training speed. How much that will reduce my training time from 2 hours and 4 minutes, I have no idea for now. But nothing in my training size will change before I get my Needles to level 10, so I will see what that +2.5% does for me, and that will tell me what the +5% for level 11 should do to the actual training time.

What are the training speeds and training times for your Merc Camp and Training Grounds? Do you get different training times for the same training speed?

Speaking only for myself: No. I tried, I really did, but it makes no sense to me. I do know that when I level an AW that boosts training speed my training time goes down, but that's it.

@Jackluyt posted some numbers on Facebook at one time, including the below chart (note: it does not include speed ups from sources:
Analysis of the chart indicates that time in seconds to train a single troop is 720/speed. Whether that continues to be true is beyond the scope of this post.

Actually confirmed on my account. With a training speed of 458, my time to train a single troop is 1.57205240 seconds. With a training size of 6,396, my training time per squad should be ~168 minutes, which is 2 hours and 47 minutes, as identified in my queue. (note that "Collection Bonus" is extraneous to my training size and speed. it is added at the end, and not part of the calculations.

Alright, got my Needles to level 11 and with my level 37 barracks, I have a training time for a full slot of 1 hour and 58 minutes. So every 2.5% increase from leveling up the Needles dropped the time by 2 minutes. The 2.5% increase in speed going from level 9 to level 10 decreased the time by 2 minutes and the 5% increase going from level 10 to level 11 decreased it by 4 minutes. From this I would expect if my Needles were level 13 like yours, my training time would be 1 hour and 54 minutes, because of the 2.5%=2 minutes reduction for me.

Unit production time per weight* (in seconds) = 720 / (speed production building * boost boostwonder)
*Multiply this number by the weight of the unit produced (between 1 and 6 depending on the unit)

As for training time per training slot multiply the unit production time per weight with your training size to get a final number

Actually all data can be found at the wiki, and I used this data to build a calculator for myself and my guildmates.
It wasn't datamined, I got to lazy

All wonders give the same boostbonusses, since I checked that in game, so I opened one wonder on the wiki grabbed the data and did not look up the other wonders. thats why I never noticed the error on the wiki at victory springs

It's in dutch but the picture should make sense, its 100% at level 30.

If you are ever in doubt of the wiki, check elvenarchitect, thats uses an automated datamine so it's always accurate

The reason I thought that you data-mined was that your website (http://crazywizard.info/en/index-en.html) had wonders up to level 30 before elvenarchitect and before these higher levels were released.
True, but at that time there was no real use for calculating training time, only recently that became a thing so I build a training calculator.
Since I needed the wiki for the barracks / mercenary camp and training grounds anyway, it was just as easy to grab the wonder data there as well.

I think it's a bit more explicit than that:
