I've noticed that all expiring buildings in cities that I visit on different worlds, all say "EXPIRED!" when I scroll over them. I've posted 2 reports from 2 different worlds in the game about this happening.
What led me to the discovery was a teammate telling me that my Ferris Wheel was expired and that I needed to remove and replace it. I checked my Ferris Wheel and saw that it was making a Rune Shard and it's 44 days away from being expired. Then another teammate came to my city and saw the same thing. And yet a third teammate checked and found the same thing. So I started going to several cities of other players, on that world and on several other worlds in the game. It was the same everywhere. In all cities, every single one showed the expired buildings as being expired. And prior to today, I remembered often seeing rows of expired Genies in cities, and I wondered why so many players had expired buildings that they weren't selling to make room for something else. Well it turns out that maybe they were not expired at all. They only appeared that way to me. I didn't see any expiring buildings, on any world, that did not say "EXPIRED".
I've reported the issue to the Devs. (sent tickets) I'm posting about it here because I think it's something everyone should make note of. If someone tells you that you've got an expired building that needs to be sold, check to make sure that building is really expired. You can't take someone else's word on it, when it comes to expired buildings. Check them first to make sure, before you sell them. So that you don't sell off a good expiring building that's not actually expired.
