Fellowship Adventure

I'm an FA mage for our fellowship. We finished 2nd in the previous two FA. In this one we will likely finish 3rd or 4th because we are short a couple of players. We are not an FA specialist fellowship but until now most of us have enjoyed them.

We all know that the FA rewards are meagre, but in past FAs at least you weren't wasting resources. I mean that you might be using time boosters or enchantments to complete badges or boost production, but you at least had something to show for it - such as more goods, catalysts, troops, etc.

But when you have to effectively throw away coins at the wholesaler, I really question the value of doing future FAs. At the end of this one, I will be congratulating the team because they have really risen to the challenge with almost no complaint. But I will be recommending that we do not do any further FAs unless there is a reversal of the changes made to the Coin and Bracelet badges, or to the map requirements for them.

I would think that FAs do make money for Inno. In my case, I would not be buying extra badges with diamonds, but in this FA and the last, I found that I did use diamonds to buy more Magic Residences so as to reduce the number of conventional Residences and so provide more room for the temporary buildings. It is really not in Inno's monetary interest to reduce participation in the FA.

These secretive and unfair changes, whether a mistake or not, lower player allegiance to the game, especially when there was no effort made mitigate the problems - such as providing free coin instants to everyone as someone mentioned earlier, if it was somehow impractical to reverse the changes.

Honestly, this has been a welcome change to what would have been yet another fa with prizes that aren't really worth the effort. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more surprises from Inno. Of course, they should be intentional next time.
I don't understand this at all. The prizes haven't changed, they've just require much more effort...
So how can u say that the opposite of what you'd hoped for is a "welcome change"?

Some players like a challenge and to waste their resources for the same rewards I guess. Higher level cities may have a fair amount of coin rains saved and if you were in a very aggressive FS with a full roster of med to late game players getting through the first three stages is doable without to much more effort. But is still to costly for the prizes offered IMO.

Given Inno chose to lie by omission about the changes I feel justified in being skeptical about their denial.
We have seen them do this kind of thing before, it is not the first time. Just one example is the Spire. When it first came out it was pretty much unbeatable to fight through it and it caused quite a uproar both in beta and then again when it went live. Looking back now we can see they made it that hard because they had already had the troop boosting buildings in development, but did not implement them until quite a while after that and couldn't mention that of course. They won't let anyone know what they have planned until it is in the game, (they have some very secretive rules they have to follow I guess). They should have just made it a little easier and then increased the difficulty when the troop boosting buildings were implemented, but this is INNO we are talking about. They seem to have a bad habit of introducing something before all the parts are ready. Maybe it is the share holders wanting them to push things out before they are ready that they think will increase their revenue, but I like to think they just lack the understanding of the consequences of their actions as they don't play the game fully like we do. Or at least thinking that helps me sleep at night and lets me overlook the problems so I can continue to play the game, otherwise I would have quit a long time ago!

Who forgot to send me the Memo ?????
So we all need'd slums of magic residences this time for coins ?????

I've seen "ooooops" before, but if Inno is saying nothing can be
done now to save the whole darn FA, I say thats complete BS....

Do an emergency patch, and fix this crap.... or just give every account
an xtra 10 coins badges into thier World ....

Do something Inno, this is rediculious, and we still have 3 days........
@helya , you can certainly fwd my sentiments to Inno.....

Nothing they can do, thats as insane as how many coins it takes
for 1 coins badge.....
they can do something, they should do something,
and they should be conciliatory on making such a mistake !

I don't believe in our post we ever said this was an oops. It was just not included in the release notes. The requirements will not be adjusted for this FA. I'm happy to share everyone's dislike for them though.

I play 5 worlds in a variety of fellowships. This fa is a struggle for all of them. Most noticeably the coin badge. The amount of coins needed, seems to be hard, even in the fs I have with some lower level cities. Bracelets were already difficult enough and didn't need to be tweeked at all. The amounts of coins needed , needs to be reduced if you are going to raise the values so high. And yes , we too used to save coins, so lower levels, or working people, or vacationers could get in the round. This is the absolute worst FA I have experienced since I started this game( dont remember what year --but a few at least lol). I am in 2 fellowships that will be lucky if they complete the fa at all due to the changes and normally they complete the 3 rounds.

Exactly. Why have the FA tech unlock in ch 1 when so much of the FA is beyond the reach of small cities. if I'm lucky I'll have one coin badge by the end of the FA
I agree with you. Also, I'm not finding any enjoyment in doing this FA like the others I have done. That coin bag increase numbers are really bad. It's worst than necklaces. I hope they fix this before the next one.

@helya, please note that anything I say about Inno doesn't include you. You have been, and continue to be, Inno's saving grace.
With that said, @Lelanya quoted the German CM as saying that it was an "oops" (if I read her posts correctly). I don't think anyone here holds you or Altram responsible for any Inno misinformation.

Yes, I think the change is to encourage players to buy badges.

It's going to encourage this player to use the fa's as down time from events to work on my city. Now if the prizes are other than the usual poo they've been since I started playing, who knows. That 1, 2 hour time booster for a top finish doesn't generate the excitement it used to. Now have 2 of them, wild horses couldn't hold me back! lol.

Question not related to coins. Do you receive more rewards for finishing all 3 paths or do they remain the same? I can find nothing about this....
No. It gets you more points if you care about ranks or something to do if you don’t care about ranks but hate the Pit.

There is NO excuse of explanation that INNO can offer that will change the way I feel about their company and methods. This will be reflected any time I am asked to rate. I won't actively recommend or encourage anyone to play ANY games INNO develops or already offers. I am doubtful that I will be around much longer. I can be used and lied to by companies for far less time and money than I have sunk into this game

The rewards for the FA adventure are not worth it for the amount of coin badges and time now required. Will not be playing the FA anymore
Very understandable and most people share that perspective. To me though, fake goods are ultimately still fake. One building, no matter its wonderful specs, is still just a bunch of pixels on the screen like the junkier buildings it stands next to. If you have a big enough entertainment budget, you can get all the prettiest, fanciest buildings you want in an instant, and sometimes as many as you want. So yeah, the FA prizes don’t mean much to me no matter what they throw in there for prizes.

However, the most intangible element in the game to me is the camaraderie. It’s easy to find a FS with people going about any which way 25 different people desire. I can also just as well keep to myself and play very well as an individual to obtain certain buildings and other fake goods. Those things are not too difficult to achieve. It is super hard though to find 24 other people willing to play cohesively as a single unit and well. Sure, if I had the means and resources, I too could just as well pay 24 other people off to play with me and do what I want, but then they’re just here for the paycheck and not necessarily you and it becomes super easy to obtain and artificial again.

Thankfully, my cities are in a situation where they can mindlessly blow through coin rains and not care. But even if they weren’t, I would still be 100% willing to do it to help my team advance. And if all my fellows are also starting cities with limited resources all struggling to get through FA and ultimately finish in #99999999th place, I would consider it a fantastic win if all of us poor broke bastards were willing to sacrifice for the greater whole because now it comes from the heart and is genuine. We may stink now, but wait until we get some experience under our belts! So we can finish dead last, have empty pockets, and no prizes to show for our efforts, but feel completely invincible and ready to take on the world TOGETHER. No amount of money can buy that feeling. It is a very difficult goal to play for and reach. FA is where everyone’s willingness to sacrifice for the greater good is put to the test and spotlighted front and center. A monkey wrench like coin badge just makes it more interesting.

So, lets see....
The increase in the coins badge is ( apparently ) in conjunction
with a future change, therefore this change was not
meant to be active..... yet. ( or so the German Mod said )

If thats not the Webster's Dictionary deffinition of an "ooops",
then are we not, speaking 2 different languages ???

We have discounts on things for $$$, thats actually more expensive
than normal. We have Event tasks like Tourn encounters that are
thee daily task, on a Sunday..... and now we have seemingly impossible
badges, in any reasonable amount of time, to be earned, in FAs .....

What is Next ???

Howabout 5* troops, that are weaker than 4* troops.
Howabout diamonds that decay like seeds do.
Howabout changing InnoGames to a subscription model.
Howabout time based Chapters.... 1 every 2 months
( yes the current ones, not future ones , thus forcing players
into higher levels on Inno's schedule )

I certainly don't remember a brew-ha-ha on the Beta thread
about rediculious coins for badges..... Someone made a mistake
and Inno should own up to it, fix it, and not repeat it ....

I hate to break it to everyone........
Only Rocket science , is well ..... Rocket science !!!!

Agree with Crackie. This is just a game. We play for fun and when met with adversity if you don't come up with a strategy to overcome your predicament then you are really just pushing buttons and going through the motions. Imagine what you could do to beat this besides blowing through coin rains (which can be a strategy too). It makes the fake rewards more important because in the end we are just here to enjoy the accomplishment of getting something done.
