Future Event Quests and Randomization

Since it appears we will be keeping the random quest system for future major events, instead of using two alternating lists of quests, please expand that to three lists of alternating quests, with no duplicates between the lists. The current system of two lists with duplicate quests "randomly" gives us the same quest over and over sometimes. With three alternating lists and no duplicates, the same quest could not show up more than once every four quests. The Autumn event has a total of 21 different quests and these could be split between 3 lists of 7 each: the 6 workshop quests and the gain supplies quest on the first list, the 3 manufactory production quests, plus four other quests, on the second list, and the remaining 7 quests on the third list. This would still keep the randomness that Inno wants, but give us a break from getting the same quest multiple times in a row.

This could even be expanded by adding three new quests to the mix, for a total of 24 quests, and then dividing them between four alternating lists. That would still be random enough that players would not be able to do much planning at all, but would make it less stressful on the players.

Definitely agree that more variety is good.

It could even be tuned more dynamically. We could have just one list, but odds that a quest is picked is based both on a constant factor (to make the really difficult quests like Toolboxes, T1 2d, or VV quests come up less often) and a dynamic factor based on how recently you've last had that quest (including a 0% chance to have the same quest back-to-back).

It would also be nice if tournament quests (gain relics, gain enchantments) could come up less often when a tournament wasn't running.

(But I actually liked the preplanned quests because part of the challenge was actually planning out the roadmap ahead of time.)

All they have to do is pick from a fixed list at random, then block that item until the list is finished, then clear the list and start over. If there are 20 potential quests, you shouldn't have to see a given on repeated until you've done the other 19.

This is from my post (#988) on the Autumn Zodiac Event Feedback thread: maybe have some sort of set list that is randomized so that everyone gets the quests in a different order but still gets all of the same quests as the next person. I'm really not sure that this endless quest system works. But maybe with some serious tweaking it can such as if there's one set list to choose from and after you complete it, it starts over again and is re-randomized so that in the 2nd go around its in a different order than the first time.
This would basically use a set list and is similar to what Ashrem mentioned above.
