"Gain cats still there," reminds me that those cats aren't that hard to get if you have saved up a few things or have the right AW. So, when faced with the need to "gain 3 cats" I can go to my MA, use instants and generate 3 cats. Or I can go to the Spire and start doing chests (hopefully hitting the 3 cat prize. Or I can craft until my mystery thing is full -- my AW then gives me 6 cats. Or I can wait for my my moonstone libraries to finish and collect them there. In other words, I have options, some of which are pretty much instant.

All of which reminds me that there is a difference in "produce," "gain" and "collect." I like the "collect" because I can go to my tomes and finish the quest quickly in many cases, especially "collect" or "gain" the non-mfr type goods. It's the tomes or the instants and either way I'm in great shape. The "produce" really sets me back when it's "3-hour" (when I am half through 9 hour...arggh) but if that happens I usually have a bit of space and put in enough production buildings for the quest and finish it in 3 hours or so rather than dumping the half-done 9-hour. If I were a bit more organized I'd have those lvl1 mfrs up and running the 3 hour thing at the same time I start the 9 hours. But I'm not that smart and usually don't look ahead enough to see this coming.

All of which tells you there are options. Usually I forget the options and struggle a bit before my brain kicks in but when you discover the differences between "produce," "gain", and "collect" and how you can do each more quickly, it gets easier.

That response does go to show how different players strategies can be. Its easy to forget that because of the never ending event. We never have much time to sit back and just develop our cities much less sit back and just talk about that aspect of the game any more.

Sounds like you have a few more options, and luck, for cats then i do. I have no AW that gives cats. And doing spire is worthless. I used to use spire for gain cats. Then inno did that horrible spire screw job. Now iv done multiple spire runs, completely, that iv gotten ZERO cats, in total, from. So yea, i dont.. cant.. rely on spire for cats. - Also the spire screw job killed the time instant rewards. So no way in hell im wasting valuable time instants on cats in the MA. (Time instants incredibly valuable... kp worthless... great adjustments inno -_- )
Moonstone set i think i do have but its not placed. I often forget about that. One day' . But not everyone has that set/option.

I have two main options for cats. First is my expiring military boost buildings. Saving them up after they expire. They sell for one cat. Trouble is, it eats up a lot of space trying to keep around a bunch of expired buildings. Its kinda stupid that we have to resort to things like that.
Second is EV Tinlug. At lvl 10 i get a cat every 5 tourney encounters. Its also sad, and incredibly pathetic, that i can gain more cats from tourney, which inherently has no cats in it, then i can get from spire, which was designed to be the main source of cats. How screwed up is that...

So summing that up. I can do all the spire, and more often then not, gain zero cats. Or i can do tourney for cats, which then leaves me short on provenances when a tourney/relic quest shows up. Or i can waste what is designed to be limited space, storing expired buildings around for when a single quest shows up. .... .... -_- So im not saying its impossible or anything. Only that its a major annoyance and inconvenience. So i think it would just make everything easier to let the enchantments be combined. Let enchantment quests count ALL enchantments instead of separating cats out. Gives everyone more options. No option would be removed. You would literally have every option you had before, plus a few more. Win-win for all players.

he "produce" really sets me back when it's "3-hour" (when I am half through 9 hour...arggh) but if that happens
Again, shows the difference in player/style. And probably room available.
I have the room right now, so those are the easiest ones for me. Ill set the first 20~ (until i run outta room) quests worth of t1/ws productions up at once. When i get to them, they are already done. Takes seconds. Does take a few minutes to plan ahead tho.
And ill admit its annoying that its come to the point where some players need to do that sort of thing. Ill guarantee you, if there was a quest line where players had zero idea of whats coming up next, you would see a lot more players unable to finish in the time given to us. Inno basically expects us to look ahead and plan ahead. And they reduced the time accordingly for that. Which i also think is a poor move in innos part.

All of which tells you there are options. Usually I forget the options and struggle a bit before my brain kicks in but when you discover the differences between "produce," "gain", and "collect" and how you can do each more quickly, it gets easier.
I HATE when i get a 'gain x basic goods' quest and i collect my 2-day t2 and t3 productions before my brain kicks in that its t1 only. All that damn time lost is infuriating. Which brings me back to the combining idea. I have no idea why they limit those to t1 only instead of t1,2,3 combined. Only thing i can think of is to slow us down and/or piss us off. And that it does. Of course the main reason we want to finish the quests as fast as possible is because its the only way we can get a break from these never ending events. SO that fault on that still rests with inno mostly.

I just want to mention that I verified this time and when you get Bronze Shovels off the board, you don't get the "feeding bonus" that is shown in the tooltip. The tooltip is incorrect. (Bug report?)

With rotating chests it has been the same way. The feeding bonus only applies to collecting from the city outskirts, not refunds or rewards within the event.

Oops—sorry, I misread. I agree about the daily prize buildings. If I get one as the daily prize, I will reroll as soon as possible, hoping for something better. At least they tend to be worth two CCs.

I believe they count all players since I have received the hobby bonus even when I didn't participate.

I suspect that around 10% of the people (maybe a bit more) pay money to get extra event treasure. Those who push reach silver and gold. If you don't spend, then you can't get into the silver or gold. Since I don't pay, I get stuck in the bronze and I have to hope for FA or something to get the final artifact or two.
I never spend for events, but get silver about 50% of the time. I do feed my Ashen Phoenix and grab a lot of the currency around my city. And I realy focus on progress, not on daily prizes.

True, but the tooltip shows them, so I do consider that a bug. Yes, I was lucky and managed to double it :). It showed +2 before I started on this board.
