Just for some background on Orcs and Goblins: on a laptop, go to elvengems.com. Scroll down to Hints and Tips. Click on Guest Races and scroll down. Ignore ads and pdf manual requests (depends upon your ad blockers, if any) and click on Orcs and Goblin (top row center). Elvengems is administered by LeLanya, who has already given you some good advice but you may be able to glean more helpful tidbits from 'gems.

I sent a message to SoggyShorts and he's out of town but will be back Tuesday. So he's gonna see what he can come up with when he gets back.
I've had a quick look, and before I take a swing at it, are you attached to any of those old event buildings (other than evos)?
Also, naughty naughty placing expansions outside of the rectangle *waggles finger*

I know I know!! I just wanted to make sure I had enough space for 'shrooms and rally points. (Beat me with a 'soggy noodle"! haha) I got anxious because expansions suddenly got so expensive an then Provinces started needing ORCS!! ach! Anyway blah blah blah huh? Got a million excuses!
I could probably get rid of the buildings giving Gems and Dust and Elixir. I still need the additional help with tier 1s and 2s. Is that's what you mean?

I will second what Lalanya said. Both your residences and your armories will grow drastically in size as well as change shape. Do these upgrades early in the chapter, before building your settlement. This will give you plenty of room to shuffle things around and rearrange your streets.

Your Fairies level residences are 2x4 in size. When you do the Orc level upgrades to them they will become 4x3. Therefore, they become both bigger and the direction of the rectangle changes orientation. The good news is that they will also provide a huge increase in population when upgraded. You will likely be able to reduce your total number of residences and still gain population when you upgrade them.

Your armories are currently 6x3 in size. They will become a 5x5 square when upgraded. It is very important to do the armory upgrades in the Orcs chapter early, because when you upgrade them they gain the Breeding Pit ability. This means that in addition to boosting your training size, armories will produce orcs. In fact, your armories will be your primary source of orcs. You can't do the chapter without a good supply of orcs.
I took a look at upgrading armories and residences and found that if you upgrade all of them 1 level you won't have room for anything! Here's my attempt to answer the question of if you could upgrade them all and still have room. Without upgrading them I found (based on @iamthouth layout) you could get 4 Rally Points and 57 mushroom farms....which would be perfect. But the moment I upgraded everything, well that failed miserably.

Here's the attempt.

Notice all the stuff outside the city....more than the small guest race area could take probably. Sigh.

Thus, while it would be nice you'll probably need to do only the residences you need for population. And, yes, you can start reducing the number of residences as you go. But do be careful you don't upgrade things too much at the beginning.
