The whole purpose for archiving threads is to take them out of the active discussion. They can be referenced, but activity is better by creating threads like this.

I have to disagree. Keeping everything in one thread is better for people looking for that info in the future. Multiple threads just complicate things. (Much like the whole archives implementation do)
