ok what is the best strategy for granite production... it seems u need a lot right after u learn the tech... and also is there any type of production boost for ur mines?

There is one boost: the portal. Each time you level it up it increases production. It costs more to upgrade, and makes you want to just do the mines first since you can do more mines for the same cost. But the portal will increase all the mines, so it really is better to upgrade it first, then the mines.

lol well my main mistake on it was not having near enough mines lol.. im up to six now and will add more when i get some space... thanks again everyone for the great info!
