@Enevhar Aldarion Keep telling yourself that while you are trying to figure out how to fit everything in your much smaller free space. I really prefer having 143 expansions open compared to 108 :p I prefer having the space to be a helpful member in our FS and the space to meet my personal goal to have all of the AW. I also prefer having no worries about culture because I bought and keep the premium culture that I like or that have a personal meaning to keep. And, I consider it a perk to have all the buildings that I have and still be able to get and replace event buildings with each new event. It is a different game being able to spend on what I want compared to not being able to afford the perks.

If I had the resources I'd buy Diamonds as well. I get the sense from this thread that some people feel lots of different ways about buying diamonds, playing hard without diamonds or whatever else. In the end we are all players just trying to have a bit of fun as time passes. In the back on my dumb Vergazi brain I think that I am a free-loader because I don't spend money on Diamonds. Then I remind myself that I don't have the money to spend right now - however, I do contribute something vital and that is serving as a "playmate" for all those who pay money to play, as well as the other free-players. I don't know what the ratio of payers to non-payers is, but I think if the player population was only composed of payers it would be a lot lower than it is.

So my advice would be if I were asked...don't worry about rankings and city size and comparing one to the other. Just have fun and do the best you can with what you have. I kind of look at my city as a constantly evolving canvass whose image is never completed - ever-changing.

p.s. Wait...this thread evolved over time so much...what the heck is it about again?!

Cheating. But it was not even about real cheating, but about "pushing", which to me is "cheating", not Cheating. And until Ranking points actually mean something and earn real prizes, pushing will stay as "cheating" to me. Now, if someone figures out how to make pushing help them, and their fellowship, finish high up in the Fellowship Adventure rankings, that would be different because there are real in-game prizes won by the top 50, or was it top 100, fellowships in each world. But right now, pushing only seems to help one player contribute more to the weekly tournaments, by way of making their military wonders stronger, which makes their troops last longer in tournament battles. And while top individual finishers in tournaments earn extra rankings points, they get nothing else. So a meaningless prize for all that extra pushing effort.

I actually feel sorry for those players doing the pushing. They put so much time and effort into this game just for this that they must have sad, empty lives outside of Elvenar.

Hear, hear!

Now, I've been a grinder in numerous single-player games ever since I was old enough to play Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System, obsessively and painstakingly repeating actions over and over and over again to gain more little virtual items, experience, whatever, but not even an attractive incentive could drive me to create and absently maintain zombie accounts strictly to pump KP into my Wonders. Such a practice offends my principles, but not enough to take up pitchfork and torch over it. Instead, I tend to have the aforementioned pity, along with a goodish dose of lack of respect, for those who employ the tactic.

Bad news for you then.
  • Pushing increases the number of levels in your wonders.
  • Having higher level wonders makes your city more efficient.
  • The more efficient your city is the more room you have for level 1 buildings.
  • The More Level 1 buildings you can have, the better you can do in the FA.
E.g. level 30 Prosperity Towers and endless excavation would allow me to have four fewer workshops. Having fewer workshops means needing fewer houses and fewer culture buildings. Filling those extra 6 - 8 expansions with a level one workshops would really help in the FA.

I do not remember that badge.
What is it called?
Since I am almost a 24 hour troop trainer seems like I'd be getting those a lot.
( may be experiencing senor' moment )

It is the Elvenarian Guard badge. It requires you to train 3 squads of troops. The unit production wonders produce based on squad size, so the more levels the more efficient regardless of chapter.

I guess so, but since all Wonders have a level cap, the advantage that pushers get is only temporary, until legit players catch up to them. Besides, someone spending a bunch of diamonds on magic buildings would have more space advantage over a pusher who does not. Plus I would think that everyone who had finished Amuni, before Constructs was just added, would have a huge space advantage over other players too. So space if not really as big a deciding factor as it could be.

But in the end, I would guess that it is this sort of pseudo-cheating that some people do that keeps Inno from offering real, exclusive prizes for top finishers, such as diamonds or that Gravity Inn. Can you imagine what a mess a Fellowship Adventure would be if they gave the top 10 or top 50 fellowships something like that as a prize?

Now you have got to be kidding. The top FS’s can win the FA if interested anyway. Problem is the grind of the FA gets old so not worth stopping everything and everybody getting stressed over it. You should be glad it is that way now. Before a lot of FS lost interest there were some serious credit card battles. Don’t forget that badges can also be bought with diamonds which boosts revenue

Yep, a bunch of sad, pitiful people battling it our for some sort of virtual superiority with no real reward. That or a bunch of gambling addicts who use spending in free mobile games in place of going to casinos or doing actual gambling online. Some of the people out there who spend a lot of money on games like this have real problems and I feel sorry for them. I feel like you are not one of them, since you said you stopped spending because of the RR and BP fiasco. If you were one of the addicted, that would not have stopped your spending.

Ok now you are just clueless. I have played & spent some serious $$ on games for years. I’m a retired CPA who worked from home for years. The bottom line is that I had/have enough expendable $ to spend on this form of entertainment. I am anything but sad or pitiful! Quite the opposite! I am both happy with life and grateful to have had a good career that enables me to not worry about if I want to drop some cash into a game if I want to. I enjoy how I play so I am sorry if you don’t have the funds to comprehend those who can afford to enhance their game experience. There are plenty of players who are simply financially secure.

Efficient enough to have a lot of time but still needed to be available on computer. Then 2016 had cancer & was housebound. Health concerns made me decide to go from semi-retired to retired. Wow, now you are clueless, since you obviously did not read the final sentences in my post. Sheesh.

I read it and just SMH. The jury is still out now that they seem to have listened to those of us with a lot of $ in blue cities. I am simply waiting to see now that they changed it in beta. In the meantime I don’t take kindly to a whole segment of players having insults hurled at them just because they can afford to play how they want.

I think that may be the key that many people overlook.
Instead of using some sort of deep sophomoric psycho analysis, just realize that many people view it as an entertainment expense.
Someone else subscribes to HBO, or plays Bingo every Friday, or goes out for dinner and a movie, or trains attack poodles, or buys sneakers, or ...
And some people here buy blue cities because for them they get more enjoyment out of the game.
I can understand that.
I am by no means a whale.
But I have bought diamonds.
Mostly to speed upgrades.
I go nuts waiting thirty hours for something to upgrade.
