At least in my world I'm noticing the 1% threshold gaining faster than the 5%. This math kind of boggles my brain.

Also not sure if Silver is a sure thing for me. I'm only 12 above the minimum Silver line now. Getting worse every day. A week left is making this too close for my taste.

Think my (maybe same for most of us) best game plan now is to only go for absolute best currency bang for the buck, like the 18 currency 1 point one... instead of spending extra hoping for a currency prize.

Would suck to miss Silver because of too many gambling losses.

Out of curiosity I blew all of my currency and got
212 on Khel to Terrible luck hitting just one +200 opening 21 & 17 of the 89s&80s 22.4 points per staff.
249 on Winy, 100% guaranteed to get it. opened 23&24 80s&89s for +1300 currency 19.0 points per staff

I just got the last piece of the set yesterday ... whew. I didn't spend any diamonds, but I fed my ashen phoenix for a little more currency, anyway. It's doable without spending anything. I did get lucky a couple of times with 80 extra scrolls, (maybe 3x) but I didn't hit the 300, which I tried for a couple times. My strategy was to hit 18 whenever I could; if that wasn't available I went for 45; if that wasn't available I went for 27 just to get to the next time when 18 or 45 would be available. And lastly if none of those were available I went for the 80. Guess it worked, but I admit I got some garbage prizes, lol. I did get 4 unexpected mornings, which I really wanted for the pop, so this event turned out pretty well, overall.

I'm in the same boat ... only 12 above the min and currency gone. I think a heck of a lot of players are saving theirs till the end, so they could have a big splash in the last hour, when the points won't change. I think I'll save whatever I get from now on for one last burst then, too ... so I guess I'm part of the problem too, lol.

It is amazing how far the gold league has advanced after I got the boot (256 I think it was). Looks like a lot of folks are either making a run at two sets or it's a battle for the gold league. Looks like bronze may be my new color as a bunch of people get dumped into silver. It's all good. Mikey and I like the color of bronze.

I spent my currency. I will make it to 260 in all three cities. No diamonds spent...yet. I am about 20 staffs short of the forge in two cities but will easily get those b4 the event ends. My third city was much luckier. I stopped spending at 260 with around 800 currency left to go.

I am silver in all three atm but fully expect to be booted back to Amateur League in all three cities.

Buy saving and waiting for the last 59 minutes you are not part of the problem, you are helping everyone by keeping the bar low.

Looks like a lot of folks are either making a run at two sets or it's a battle for the gold league.

KP is a popular prize choice when most daily prizes are lackluster as they are in this event.

heh that would be funny. Realistically the servers have never crashed on the "good" daily prize like Goblin gift shops or whatever, so I wouldn't be concerned at all. Despite this being the theoretical best strategy I doubt more than 2% of players will do it anyways.

Maybe because it's the middle of the night for many of them? Certainly a majority of players on US servers.

For sure. Pulling a number from mah britches I'd say the time-zone issue cuts the last-minute players by half (down to the 2% I mentioned earlier which came from the same source)

Im wondering if the current golds are using their currency as they get them? this could be why there is such a gap

If they are like me I have saved over 3000 to use on the next good prize that shows up, and if there are more like me the gap will close quickly

Edit: right now i just got booted from the Silver league but should make a run for gold when i use my currency

I'm pretty sure it's not enough. I have one city that has been quite lucky (avg 19 points per) and I couldn't crack gold when I spent everything yesterday.
The 1% now must be extremely lucky (like somehow better than 1% chance) or they spent a little and are also spending as they go.

Good news is in 24 hours i'm still exactly 12 in to Silver. So I assume most of you at least aren't going lower either. Bad news is it feels like I'm struggling in quicksand and about to drop.

KINDA SORTA MATH ... Not trying for Gold but, I am 50 points from Gold, which is 25 of the 45 currency options (that give 2 points each), or 1,125 currency behind the lowest 1% player, at least. I assume the vast majority of 1% players got there by luck, not $$$ currency purchases as that is very expensive with little currency reward for your buck.

Though personally being on the fringe of a Silver loss is kind of making this League intense and therefore more interesting to me... League is feeling almost pure luck to even get Silver which just feels wrong for players that do all quests etc and haven't gambled their currency away.

We can say, "Well that's just people fighting for top 5%"... but when it's pure luck making so many "did all quests" players lose, it's not really "fighting" at that point is it ?

If something isn't changed in the future, Leagues might as well just have us spin a wheel and get it over with... save us the pretense of so much effort actually meaning something.
