Leaving Game because of New Battle Design

I have been seriously considering leaving the game and I'm in 2 worlds. This new battle system has made it virtually impossible to win a battle, and I used to. The game used to be fun and competitive. Now all I do is scrounge for resources so I can 'negotiate' to get land and relics. That is NOT a game.
I can't believe you screwed this up so badly. I don't know why you made the battles more difficult, but I do know I am not the only person that considers the battles unwinnable and is very frustrated by it.
I am so disappointed in you.

It really is a shame that players are being forced to leave the game because they're not being successful anymore in battles. I had a handful of my fellows leave my fellowship due to this problem. It is sad because they were really passionate about this game. I hope the mods fix these issues so everyone can play happily and stress free again.

I am also very unhappy with the new battle system.
I've invested $60 into growing my cities up until now but, will never send another dime if this remains the way it is now. I have not been able to win an encounter in either of my cities since this has been implemented... The only excuse I can seem to find on here is that "I've advanced too far"...

Sorry but this is just no fun anymore!

Actually, though I'm not totally quitting I am going to seriously cut back playing. And that means a serious lot of diamonds I'm not going to buy anymore.
I just terminated my account on the french and german server, as well as the testcase on the belgian one.

So I'm going to keep only two worlds now, and instead of logging in several times a day for 5-10 minutes each time on those I'm only going to do so once a day. That will be detrimental to the research since the knowledge bar only goes to 10, or 20 with a spell if I will bother, but so be it.
The fun has gone out of the game. I've seen the 3 battlesystem-updates, as well as some other updates and frankly: they suck. The return on investment in fun and pleasure is pretty much gone, so I'll cut back and look for something that gives me a better return on that.
And let me tell you one thing: it is NOT going to be any game of Innogames anymore. Even just netflix by now is a better alternative.

It would seem the mods solution is increase the cost of buying expansions, rather than, fixing the battle problems. Seems to me that these updates are all about forcing players to buy diamonds in order to progress in the game. Greed is an ugly thing. It is a destructive force as well. The developers are killing their cash cow whether they realize it or not.

There are changes coming down the pipeline which may ease the battle difficulty a bit. Its verboten to discuss beta changes here but I would recommend seeing what the next release brings or popping over to beta forums to get a sneak peek. (just google it- no registration required to read)

Can someone tell me how its changed. I am new. I just started a few days ago. I have noticed that the battles are very difficult after your first few provinces. The squad sizes you have to fight are huge! I know you can upgrade your Barracks, but it just seems to be a far fetched accomplishment.

Thank you Draconomicon!

EDIT: Looks promising for the tournament, but nothing for fighting in the world map.

Exactly! As I said in another thread, it doesn't make up for my nearly complete inability to fight in provinces. Small bone that's not big enough to even savor. And balancing changes? Whatever happened to that? Tournaments are not what most needs to be balanced.

@Draconomicon
Thanks. For a moment I thought there was light at the end of the tunnel, making it worth to stick with the game after all...only to realise it's the headlights of that out-of-control truck that's coming my way.

So the tournaments are going to be SLIGHTLY easier. Yippy-a-yo. Yes, that really was my main concern, of course waaaaaay above all the unwinnable fights in the provinces.

And hey, let me see. There's not that many expansions to be gained in the woodelves chapter. But many buildings are getting considerably larger. And I now need roads for the cultural mana objects too, so I need even more space.
Lemme see, where oh where can I get expansions? Oh yes, the provinces...no, wait...scouting takes almost 3 days per province, and then the battles are impossible. So I need 9x3 =27 days of non-stop scouting to scout the needed provinces for 1 expansion, then am faced by 9x8 unwinnable battles I'll need to negotiate at exorbitant rates/encounter. What fun.
Of course, I could 'just' buy those expansions...hmmm...considering the price NO. I can just as easily buy 1 or 2 (or more) PC-games for each expansion, each of which will let me have more fun playing for more than those 27 days.
Seriously Inno, what choice do you think I'll make? Especially since I in that case know I won't have to deal with sudden crippling changes when I get past midway the game.

But so glad they will be fixing the upgrades for the magical buildings. Though I wonder about the cost in diamonds for each upgrade and what kind of rip-off 'deal' they will offer for that.
Not that it really matters, since I'm not going to buy diamonds anymore, so you miss out on those too Inno. Had the upgrades worked when you introduced them I would have upgraded all magical buildings I have already (10 on one world, 10 on the other and 10 more scattered over my now deleted worlds), but it's not going to happen now.

Yeeeeeh, just as I predicted: one more HM unit to play with (now only waiting for one more HR unit to be introduced in the next chapter). Hello...I do not want more of the same kinds of units that do the same kind of thing. I want units that either do something seriously different/specialised, but better yet, units that will be seriously helpfull in battles.

The diff between the drone-rider and the swordacrobat is minimal.
Same for the mageunits for the elves.
And its again so with the archer/hunter.
Now I'm going to get something comparable to my elder treants?...it's not going to change anything.

And yes, great, the AW can now be upgraded even further. That actually seems great, if someone can tell me where the heck I'm going to get the KP's needed. I only placed a few AW's anyway, but even then I haven't been able to upgrade any of the 4 above lvl 6 yet, so once again, not really my main concern.
Mostly a nice thing for all your buy-to-get-through-the-game customers who need a place to put their KP's after they bought themselves within 3 days through the part of the woodelf chapter that was released and had even the most advanced buildings up before the end of day 4, so this seems to be the direction it now takes with Elvenar: push only for more diamonds and more 'buyers' than players. Good luck with that.

I don't think it's a new battle system. It's just new battle units that mostly do the same thing with just a few differences, take up more space in your city, and queue up in the same building. What drivel is this? I compared the stats of the blossom mage to the sorceress and huffed. I also snorted when it was mentioned in a release note (I think it was 1.17?) that they increased the ranger's damage and saw that they did -- by 1! That's not even a bone to throw at players, more like a sliver that gets stuck in your craw.

I'm so glad I haven't built any military AWs. I was planning to build the Needles and Monastery but not anymore.

@Draconomicon
I agree. I'm pretty much pissed that I invested quite some time, effort and KP's in my monastery and the needles. Apparently I should have stuck those in the mountain halls and golden abyss instead.
I just sold the mercenary camp since I am REALLY NOT IMPRESSED with the fairy units. Comparable with other units, but only available late in the game for a serious amount of KP's in required research and they don't add anything at all. So why bother training them?
I'll train some cerberus units, but I'm not going to upgrade the traininggrounds, since the additional space just isn't worth it. And maybe I'll just sell it off as well if they keep being as useless as they are now.

I'm with them! I have only played a week and only have size 1 sword dancers and archers I was winning battles and taking some losses, OK with that. Now, all of the sudden my enemies are size 6 MONSTERS! My troops get wiped out just taking out 1 of those things with another couple of them left over still walking around! I CANNOT WIN!!! As I am not invested yet (but was close to buying some diamonds to be able to get a good start), I think I will bow out now... Had fun while it lasted but it s no longer ANY fun. Please delete any/all accounts of mine, I will not be back!

lol, a week in, that would be the treants? Send in the archers and keep them out of range, those monsters move slow. You should bee able to wipe them out with archers without taking a single hit.

Ah, so you can sell the training grounds. I was wondering about that. I haven't built it and have no plans to. I'm really hoping a mainline quest won't require its construction. I would also like to downgrade my barracks to the lowest possible level. Military stuff in Elvenar should be "demilitarized".
