I've been on here a couple years now, been stuck for months on some worlds due to lack of help but you push onward and deal with what has been dealt to you, you can move quickly if you spend more money to grow faster.
If only there was a way you could join up with other players, perhaps as many as 24 of them so that you always have players to trade with and exchange buffs. But alas.. I guess spending months stuck or paying money are the only choices. :(

I'd rather be surrounded by coin pits than idiots with vulgar, sexually explicit names. o_O

But I do understand the frustration of being an oasis in the desert.

I get a kick out of the vulgar/explicit names. I'm an adult. Words don't really bother me and I'm a gigantic user and supporter of free speech. Seeing that HornyDevil666 motivated my builders makes me laugh. (made up name)

I think most of us similar, but there's a line. When a name smacks of racism or seems like it's intended to denigrate a group, that bugs me, a lot. "HornyDevil666" wouldn't bother me in the least. "Bigt|ts" or "ElvenWh*re" are a different category. And not for the "Elven" part....

Here's my reply to the person who replied to me with a similar statement:

"Slap on the Bottom" is silly, and not even close to what I am talking about. Since you miss my meaning, I'll be direct. I'd rather not go out to my map and see "ImpregnateMeDad", "MyC**KInYourMouth", "IKillNi**ers", "F**kYouC**t", or any of the similar names I have seen in this game and in Forge Of Empires. If I want to see garbage like that, I can read public posts on Facebook. ;)

There is a time and place for that "free speech". So you may enjoy seeing that in a game, but not everyone does, and they shouldn't have to. And my original comment was that I would rather be surrounded by coin pits on my map than idiots with vulgar, sexually explicit names. Why are you offended by that?

Aaand I have ignored it on purpose because I usually don't talk to the wall of self righteous.
This is where I draw the line between me and lawful evil. Consider me triggered.
NO there is NO SUCH THING as " time and place for that "free speech""! And there is no free speech in quotes!
Countless people lost their lives and underwent extreme hardship to fight for the rights we take for granted today. The very rights some try to diminish for their own purpose or simply because of their insecurities. So bothered by few letters thrown together that you use your right to free speech to try asserting the notion of taking it away from others...well isn't that precious. I suggest you seek professional help with your repression problems and leave others be.

Cities do get moved, but it is a slow process. I had my checkbox ticked for 10 months and nothing ever happened...go figure.

Since the forums are private to a business and is not headquartered in North America, people on the forums don't even necessarily have the rights of which you speak. Nobody is asking for people to lose their rights. We are saying that there are things we don't want to have to look at in a place where some of us pay money to participate. Your soap-box is a little flat.

So, me saying that I would rather be surrounded by coin pits than idiots with vulgar, sexually explicit names equates to me somehow wanting to deprive other people of the right to say those things at all? Did you miss the part where I said that if I wanted to see garbage like that I could go read public posts on Facebook? Seems to me that you're the one so badly bothered by a few letters thrown together that you have to make a spectacle of yourself on a public forum. And here you are, asserting that I have no right to speak on the forum simply because I don't want to see something when I go out onto my map. Funny, isn't it?

As an adult, you should be able to recognize that not everyone is the same, and some people don't like certain things. They have a right to not be assailed by them. If I had said that I hate chocolate, would you have flipped out like this?

You say there's no such thing as a time and place for that free speech. Well, sir, I'd like to see what might happen if you went to a pre-school or a church and spouted off any of the player names I used as examples. Sure, they're great in a porno or an erotic novel, but honestly, there's places where it's not necessarily appropriate.

By the way, I love John Cleese. That's one of his better outfits. ;)

General comment not pointed at any particular person:

There is no free speech on private forums/ servers.
Free speech is about the government censoring you.

I have been playing this game for a few months now and have been stuck with the same dead neighbours all this time. I am now getting a nice amount of coins on my daily visits but my banked supplies are nearly down to nil as I do not get the return visits, let alone the lack of help with culture!
How do I go about getting my city moved please
I am in the same boat. I started in Sinya in June (?) and put in a support ticket on July 5, July 22 and just last week. Support says there is nothing they can do and to have even a chance at getting moved that I have to continue playing the game - so I find this both incomprehensible that for a game that depends on interaction between neighbors and fellowships to not allow you to have active neighbors. It also appears that Inno has taken the cutomer - or support out of customer support as I dind their solution ( ie continue to play ) unacceptable

Willie, I feel for you. Apparently the task of moving cities is a complicated one carried out by the software with no overrides for individual city movement. Cities that meet the metrics for deletion happen first and we see them as 'gold mines'. Then the players furthest to the edge are moved toward the center based on open slots that have the same boosted good configuration. Moving inward, players continue to be moved toward the center. These are ONLY the players who have checked the preference in their option menu asking to be moved. Sometimes, a player in a 'bad' neighborhood instead gets new neighbors, either because they did not have the preference checked or because there were no available slots for their boosts. Many times these neighbors are new players in that world, if not new to the game completely. I started off in late March in a tumbleweeds section of the map. By the time I was moved in mid-July, I had explored 6 rings out from my city and had 2 neighbors that were semi-active. Once all the inactives became gold mines, I did not know if I would be moved or if I would get newbie neighbors. At that point, I had been playing for months and was going with whatever - it would beat what I had. If I got newbie neighbors, I planned to start sending them all welcome messages and offering help. I did get moved, and into an extremely active neighborhood. That is also luck. Apparently active is defined in metrics that don't account for neighborly visits or trades. But, if not for getting into a young fellowship that would take new players with low scores, I'm not sure I wouldn't have become one of those dead cities. Even with that, it was still slow going and I had to make every move count. Kinda forced me to learn the mechanics and strategy behind the game early on. And, the game is complicated and many of the quirks are not explained in-game. There are excellent guides in this forum done by players that can help with that. Not sure when your world is scheduled for the next round of player movement, but I think it's done on a time schedule. Try to hang in there, find a good FS that understands your position, and it will be worth it.

My 45 neighbors - 43 of them were gold coins as of July 5 - the other 2 might as well be - their ranking in the world has not changed since then either. I can do without the visits - I an complaining because of the lost trade opportunities - I have a good fs - ranked in the top 10 on Sinya - but every time we run short of something - it is please check your neighbors - well I can not - I also think that is why every single province on my map shows as hard - or very hard - it follows that if all the inhabitants are dead - then there is no one to negotiate with - or fight. Just kidding on that - but I thonk most will get my drift . The hard part for me is that my move button has been set since day 1 - ad I see comments from others that it has been like that for a year, I will not last that long ! And I have just started another city in Ceravyn - guess what I am finding ? It will come to this - at some point I am going to have to decide whether playing a social game can be done with only a fs and no neighbors - - makes it a lot harder and support is not helping
