why is it so hard to get mermaid awards???? I was able to craft ONE and only upgrade to level 5, keep finishing the spire disappointed each time :{
I wouldn't fret over missing out on the Mermaid's honestly...
Remember: YOU CANNOT TELEPORT EVO BUILDINGS OUT OF YOUR CITY!!

Because of this, you will want to be very selective in what evo buildings you place, since they are still an 'all-in' building. If/when you decide you need that space for something else, your ONLY option is to delete your hard-earned evo building!
And should you decide later on that you want it again? Tough toots - start from scratch and begin again with trying to craft the lv1 base building, and then waiting for the artifacts to come back into the spire rotation, and then trying to win all 9 artifacts yet again! :p

IMHO, the only evos currently worth consideration;
1. Fire Phoenix. (obvious reasons - even a Lv2 is a noticable boost.)

2. Witch's Hut.
Frogs for human players is amazaballs and completely game-changing. Ork production is absolutely stellar. Another 'S-Tier' level building.

3. Brown Bear
Somewhat loses in value it's feeding effect once you unlock Simia Sapians AW at the very end of Ch14, but the free unit production every 48hrs is worth it's weight in gold regardless.
Even w/SS, you can still abuse the ever living gak out of the feeding effect thanks to time + supply instants for an even bigger 'bang-for-buck' pay off.

4. Moon Bear
3kp in a 3x3 every 24hrs is nothing to sniff at. Also has decent enough production of specialist resources. Feeding effect is 'meh', but the free kp's on daily collect is the real winner here.

5. Storm Phoenix
This one only really jumps in value once you have unlocked & leveled up the Elvenar Trade Center AW at the end of Halflings... Even if you're a pure fighter, this one can still be a solid value for it's combo-wombo ability to really push your Sentient goods production through the roof, albeit only temporary. ;)
But it is a good way to massively boost those over night 9hr productions and really gain the most from your seeds investments.

6. Wise Golum
Humans LOVE this one because 'free priests'. Elves get kinda screwed since their Sorcs are by far and away the most useless 'mage' class unit in the game.
But Humans are a must-have since our barracks units are generally among the worst/near worst in the game at what they do... (except for Priests of course, which are S-Tier level units!) Elves of course might even skip this one entirely, since the main feature (sorceress) is pretty crap.
Did I mention that Humans love this one?!

7. Polar Bear
Only if you're a tournament nut honestly, since it's resource pick-up ain't worth the 48hr wait.
Of course, once you unlock the Timewarp AW at the very end of Constructs, this building pretty much loses it's only reason for existing.

Every other evo building is basically 'meh' to outright 'dumpster fire' in terms of what it brings, (or rather doesn't bring!), to the table.

Now maybe if the devs would get off their backsides and just fix the code, we could finally get the ability to teleport out old/outdated evo buildings back into our inventories, and none of the above would actually matter anymore?!:p
(...and yes, FoE has managed to do it, so the only reason Elvenar can't is because we get stuck with the lazy/incompetent devs.)

Thanks for the summary of the evo buildings @The Unbeliever . The devs here seem reasonably industrious and competent though. It's a pretty enjoyable game so far (9 weeks in and concluding chapter 3 here), and there are rarely game-altering bugs (the stash outpost bug was annoying but not game-altering, at least for me).

While I agree with your list, I would also add the aureate to it, even before the storm. After carefully considering both, I realized that per square, the aureate would give me a lot more T1 goods than a maxed factory would, and that's without feeding, so much more useful than having to constantly buy pet food. The storm is only useful IF you have tons of pet food and IF you have tons of MM spells. Without one or the other, it doesn't help much. It might be well worth it to get rid of a factory and put up an aureate instead, as far as benefit per square, and look at all the pop you free up, too.

brown bear: does not lose any value after getting sapiens - still wish i had two of them

polar bear: used in conjunction with a leveled timewarp your troop buffs can last for 2 tourneys and 2 spires - double the value double the fun

Where the polar bear really shines is with the Timewarp.
I'm dying to get some more bears so that with my level 30 TW and max polar I can go down to zero wait time between rounds.
Currently just over 3h but if I feed the level 5 polar bear down to 40m

Agree with your well-laid-out discourse on evos with minor varying opinions.
1. From reports and not experience, Brown Bear and SS seem to complement one another without redundancy.
2. Regarding Moon Bear, please know that you can get 18 KP instead of 9 KP per feeding if your timing is right.
3. I am sure the devs have to balance 'challenge versus cake-walk' for every aspect of the game and IMO not being able to teleport evos is in the same vein as not being able to teleport military bldgs, i.e., they are instrumental to your overall plan or they are sold. (The comparison is not water tight; one can rebuild military bldgs but would have to wait to see if evos were reissued).

So, what's the deal with getting extra artifacts for these evolving buildings? In 8 cities where I climb the whole spire every week I managed to get enough artifacts for one level 7 Stonehenge with all others at 2-4 artifacts. Mermaids is shaping up to be the same. If they just keep cycling it will be next year before I get enough artifacts to complete any evolving building. That's a year of no main prize worth anything to me.
You know it used to be that in every random chest contained a piece of the library with 10% odds. And a piece was always in a boss chest. So why are the artifacts not in the random chests now? I need 2, I play through the high halls every week and zilch so far. I gladly would trade diamonds for them.

Yes, and each piece of the library was useful on its own unlike the artifacts...

@mikeledo I'm not sure if the other artifacts going to crafting is guaranteed. In the facebook livestream event recently they said the blueprints for 2019 phoenix artifacts recipe will remain in the MA for the foreseeable future. They did not say anything about other types of artifacts making use of that recipe.

I would counter that the Mermaids Paradise is definitely not only worth placing, but it is also worth keeping. I would never delete mine.

This is why:

In my chapter, a fully upgraded Marble factory produces 3,784 marble per 3 hrs. Most people will not be resetting their marble factories 4 times in a day, because they have lives. But let's say I did. 4 x 3,784 = 15,136 marble. To produce that marble I have to pay coin and supplies. The Marble factory gives nothing besides Marble (no Population or Culture), and I have to pay for the production. The building is also larger than the Mermaids Paradise.

The Mermaids Paradise is 4x4, which is 4 spaces less than 1 Marble factory.
It provides Population, Culture, and a person's T1 boost from the get go. As it is evolved, it provides additional T1 (Boost +1 Stage 3 & Boost +2 on Stage 5) and at Stage 7 it also gives an Ancient Knowledge 3 instant. Now about the goods.

I have a Lvl 10 and it gives me:
9180 marble
8670 steel
8160 plank

Yes, that is less Marble than four 3 hr runs. However, if you add in the additional Steel and Plank you get a total of 26,010 goods. That is far more than you can produce in one day, in a smaller footprint.

I agree that I think Inno should allow Evolving buildings to be transported into Inventory. I wish they would. They probably will tell us they can't due to coding. I don't know. It would be very nice if they could work it out. I don't expect, however, it's ever going to happen. But what I do with the evolving buildings I choose to have in my city is create an expansion just for them. Then that building is "paid for" in my mind. I don't have to worry about whether I want to use that space because I know that space is allotted to that building. If a building is important enough to you, you'll find the space to keep it.

That's my "IMHO". ;)
