Hi there @Laura C .. Welcome to the Forum and to Elvenar . Your Ranking Points are calculated based on your Required Culture and Working Population. You get additional Ranking Points for completing Encounters in Provinces.
If you go to the Sorcerer’s Scrolls of Knowledge here on the Forum and go to Game Play , it has all the beginning information you will want to know . Throughout that area in Sorcerers Scrolls of Knowledge there is a ton of useful information . Check it out ~ Always come back for any questions you have as there are a lot of people here to help and guide you .

The ranking points can mean as much or as little as you want to give credence to them. It’s an open ended game. You can ignore them completely or dominate all the charts. It’s all up to you really. There are big cities with massive scores that are barely active and tiny cities with very low scores that can run laps around big cities in certain events. Whatever your choose to focus on as your preference is the right answer.
