For the ones that seem to get the diamonds a lot, it is just 20% less, because we go from 5 chances at 500 diamonds every 10 chests, to 4 chances at 500 diamonds every 10 chests.
That's not how odds work and you know it.

This is nothing but an uber nerf. typical Inno swinging the pendulum back twice as hard.

Wanna make it really cool? Switch out buildings for Sorceries and let us choose a building or prize or whatever.
Yes. While they’re trying to fix/ change things, they should work on not having AW levels, relic boosts, expansions and completed research count towards the difficulty of the game. Which were the results from the tourney changes they made back in 2020. If they want to fix something, they should fix that instead! That would be more than cool, it would be incredible!

Only for the unlucky.
No, not for the unlucky, for the average person in the long run. For the lucky person, the rules just don't matter. "When he has a 50/50 shot, the odds are 80/20 in his favor." - The most interesting man in the world.
I agree, all they needed to do was switch out the buildings. These extra changes were unnecessary.
Have you thought that maybe the switching out of buildings is the red herring and the "unnecessary" changes are what it is really all about?

As far as I'm aware, the only two free places in the game to get diamonds are the MA and the Spire. Considering that this drop in diamond frequency corresponds with the new availability of the Spectral Stones outside of event prizes, I'm guessing they're trying to encourage Spire play. It's possible the drop in available diamonds elsewhere will increase the number of fellowships trying seriously to make Gold Spire, which not only encourages cooperative play but also more time spent in-game for each player; that is, after all, kind of the company's raison d'être.

I don't live my life like the world is just one giant casino.
Of course you do, you just aren't aware of it.
Do you cross the street when the light is red, or green? One has much better odds of survival.
  • If you choose red that's one set of odds.
  • If you choose green that's another set.
  • Even if you close your eyes and let "fate" decide, that's still choosing a set of odds.
It's all a casino.

Genie and the Goddess Of wishes

For statistic nerds:

Genies seem to average ~50 diamonds/week* each. I win enough Genies to keep 3 in place at all times, playing the full Spire each week. (*Genie average tracked over ~12 weeks with 3 Genies in place. Actual average was a bit higher; maybe 54 per?)

Between individual prizes for completing the Spire & doing Genie pick-ups ~10x/week, I was averaging 715 weekly at the end of December (10-week average). My FS historically hits silver around 40% of the time, so that's another 100 diamonds/week on average. (With Perks I expect it'll be 90%-100% going forward, which should balance out any loss in individually-earned diamonds.)

I turn over the MA maybe 2-3 times a week. I've never tracked it, but I'm pretty sure I get 500 diamonds at least once a month. I don't keep Goddesses of Wishes out regularly. As they stack I'll put 3 or so out at once; the small prizes are less annoying when multiplied. :)

That adds up to an average 900+ diamonds per week. It does tend to be inconsistent, no question: A great week, a couple middling ones, a week of utmost barrenness, et cetera. I started tracking in ch. 5, but IIRC I was getting about the same in ch 4. Maybe a little less because I was still building up my Genie stock.
