I think I'll do the same approach as last year. I just followed the quests and enjoyed the ride, it will probably take another year before they release the next chapter so there's plenty of time to complete it.
I plan to blast through the first 7 techs right away. I have everything I need in coins/supplies/goods/KPs to do so, after that I will start needing chapter goods. From that point on I am going to take it really easy. But even if I do so I'm pretty sure it will not last more than 5, maybe 6 months if I really slow down. And then the long wait starts again.
Unless there are some interesting developments from Inno I may park my city after that as there is no real point in hanging around for another 7 months waiting again.

I'll be beelining for the Squad Size upgrade, as soo many productions are related to it now. Upgrading that will give a lift in many places.

Looks like there will be cheaper sapphire prices for many early chapter premium culture buildings. A few take aways from this change:

1) The diamond to sapphire ratio will be standardized 15:1 across the board (previously 24:1 for the later buildings).
2) 1x1 premium culture buildings as well as those from chapters 1-5 will sell for spell fragments (44 spell fragments per sapphire spent) instead of RR.
3) Chapter quests in chapters 2-5 will reward 50% less sapphires due to the lower prices of these buildings.
4) Buildings from chapter 8 and on will have a lower diamond price but the same sapphire price as before.

I think it is funny somehow, that they roll out their new changes partial now, and seem to check players reaction for a while in order to gain more experience and maybe to get help with finding possible ways to exploit.

I can imagine how it must have looked like in the headquartes when the exploit of the Tome of Secrets was finally recognized while some players were using this exploit for weeks / months. :)
"Such a failure must never happen again! So let's roll out more carefully and keep an eye on those troublemakers in order to be able to adjust."

Sounds sensible to me anyway!

And to think that their original plan was to have the sapphire cost escalate as the chapters progress so that more sapphires were earned in the higher chapters from the same performance in the spire. If the RR sell mechanic were not pointed out then, they would probably have had a lot harder time selling their rebalance when they found out that higher chapter players were getting more RRs by building and selling lower chapter premium culture.

Thanks, but # 2 is NOT an improvement at all. There are way more ways to gain spellfragments than there are to gain RRs. Especially so for those in lower chapters

BTW, is there any news about when chap 22 will be released on the live servers?
It used to be about 2 weeks after the release on Beta (you know, way back when), but there hasn't been any in-game announcements yet.

As far as I remember it is not announced.
My guess is next Tuesday, but only a guess.

Just watched that video, I really like that building with the wild boar, really looking cute!

Anybody already knows what kind of building this is or what it's name is?

Edit: I got it, it seems to be a Magic Dust Manufactory - very nice design!
This is, to me, one reason to be looking forward to reach that chapter one day, especially since Magic Dust is one of my boosted goods in my capital.

Yeah.....um.....pretty sure 1 RR isn't going to do anything for anybody's economy.....wow.
I agree. It's not worth it to do the spire anymore. Sure, I do 4 chests to get an rr in tourney, but it is easier in tourney because one person can make that by themselves. Even if I go to the top of the spire, I can't get an rr if the team doesn't do it. They've been turned off by the spire now and don't even try to get to high halls, and once a team is turned off, it's very hard to turn them back on with a TINY increase. Inno has killed the spire like they've killed so many things.

Now, if they were to have the spire rewards accumulate for each player individually ... without having to reach the dang purple bar, then I'd be happy to go to the top every week and get the 100 diamonds and the couple of rrs. But since I only get diddly squat for doing it, whats the point? That's why an rr works in the tourney but it WON'T DO A DANG THING in the spire ... sheesh that isn't rocket science.
