You don't ever have to. They don't look any different, and only the people who want more than one city use that feature.
It doesn't change your game. It only keeps you busier!

You can use other worlds as diamond farms, as diamonds are shared between all worlds. Just use them on your main world.
1 world is enough for me though. Moving slowly at the pace of a sloth is fine by me (only in elvenar though... normally in games i need fast paced action)
