Answered Producing new resource before tech unlocked?

In Halflings, "Advanced Trader" has the little "divine seeds" icon next to it. What exactly does that icon mean?

If I were to complete Advanced Scouts and then stop progressing in the tech tree (without completing Advanced Trader), and if I were to get some building that produces seeds in Halflings, but I haven't completed Advanced Trader yet, will it produce a resource that I can't use?
(e.g. Amuni Ships from the next event produces Seeds in Halflings chapter.)

It means that once the trader is upgraded, it will be able to produce divine seeds. Without that technology you cannot upgrade the trader to the necessary level.

Just to be clear, the festival merchant and all other seed producing event buildings will produce seeds in the halfling chapter without having researched this technology.

Is it possible to use the seeds produced by a Festival Merchant, or similar building, if you don't have the tech unlocked?
I guess I don't know when you start needing seeds for catering (or if there is any other use for them, before tech unlocks start requiring seeds, which I guess is after the trader is upgraded).

You need seeds for persuading ghosts that sort of thing, in Elemental Chapter. They are needed for upgrading guest race tech in Halflings, iirc. It's marked so you know when you can start producing it, basically.

Event and Season quests will start needing Seeds once you complete the first research in chapter 11.
