So far in the game, each land expansion requires the addition of one more province conquest than the last. Is there a point in the game where it levels out to a regular amount, or even plateaus for an expansion or two?

Thanks! I did try to search wiki first, just didn't find it. Really, this might be the deal breaker. The fight part of this game is so out of balance, it is just becoming a labor to "play". To bad, nice concept.
