Re-arranging city

OK, so you first come to this site from Facebook or some other random place on the net and figure you will tool around a bit just to check it out. Build a couple of things, make a road, all cool. BUT, when you finally decide to get serious, spend some cash and really work on it, you find out those crazy 8 road schematics really hug nuts. Is there a way to "mass move" things on the board instead of moving a house over to this side, delete the road, move a house back, move the workshop, armory, etc.?

I'm not sure I completely understand your question, but no, each building has to be moved individually. You also have to clear enough space to lay the item down if you want to switch two things. I don't understand what you mean about the roads. You can also move the roads, but you have to move each piece of road (1x1) individually as well.

Probably not. Each building is anchored in its topmost corner, and when you click on the building base, in move mode, that corner will jump to your cursor. It's a very minor convenience, but you can oftimes avoid a drag.

A building must be attached to a road in order to upgrade it, BUT if there's enough space for it to expand without moving the anchor square, ie if there's enough free space on the front left and front right sides, then the building will just upgrade without asking you for a move.

So if your city is growing toward the bottom of the screen, you can shift an entire row of buildings with 2 clicks each.

Finally - tuck an expansion sector off in the corner, somewhere inconvenient, and use it for temporary storage so that you'll have some wiggle room wen you're moving stuff around.

That makes sense. Having an extra tile to toss stuff in while you are moving the city around and changing configuration. The problem that all started this was my OCD and having nice neat rows of (up to) level 4 houses to find out that at level 5, they go to 3 x 2, DOH!
