Recovering from odd ... bug.

I cannot decide whether or not to be amused. Inno has asked what they can do to "help".

I have no idea what their customer support people CAN do - I assume that setting my research tree back to CH III would not be possible. I'm also assuming that they cannot just upgrade all my buildings to the appropriate level.

I have asked, instead, for coin rains, supply windfalls, time boosters, and troops. And I pointed out that this still leaves me "short" on runes and relics and spell fragments - but I'm willing to deal with that.

Edit: I specifically did not ask for diamonds because honestly, they'd need to give me something like 20K of them. And they're of limited use when upgrading / building.

Honest question, @Emory62 : Are you doing this more for the challenge or the fun?

If the former, I truly wish you the best of luck. It is the Hard Way (TM), and the accomplishment is applauded.

If the latter, and this may be an unpopular opinion, I would suggest having Support delete the city and make a new one in its place. You will gain the advantages of the story quests (should you choose to complete them, which I recommend) and the flow of the game will be much improved from many aspects.

I second what @Ihrlaen said, and add that I recently started a new city. I was probably playing too much, but with a supportive FS, it is definitely possible to get to chapter 5 in less than 4 weeks. I have no idea how long it would take to crawl out of that mess that your city is in.

But it is a game, so do whatever makes you happy!

As long as your city isn't upgraded far enough there will be lots of walls to hit in events.
I would recommend you to continue upgrading and to not care about the current event that much.

Once your city will be upgraded, events will become easier. ;)

The Spire has given me spell fragments and catalysts for crafting, as well as a few time boosters.

Figuring to cater a few provinces in the upcoming tourney - I prefer to fight, but it's going to be a while before I can get my army rebuilt to CH V levels. The tourney will give me runes for AWs and relics which are never to be despised.

Last but not least, kudos to my fellowship for the lopsided trades they've accepted - which are allowing me to do this.

Have reached an impasse with Inno - which I'm honestly not surprised about.

Their proffered solution was for me to start over on another world, or have them delete my city on Harandar so I could start over there.

I have respectfully declined these "solutions" because (as I said to Inno) they're outrageous.
