Season of Triumph

Why did we not get a full 24 hours for the first daily quests of the new season? It's going to be extremely difficult to complete all quests without burning a bunch of time boosters. As of 0100 AM US Central Time, the new season hadn't staarted yet. When I logged in shortly before 1600 US Central time, there were less than 3 hours left before today's time will expire

No, he's correct, Lelanya. The Season of Triumph started at 6 am eastern time (US) = 5 am central today with the normal 4 daily quests - but the 'day' ends at 8 pm eastern = 7 central and a new set of daily quests will then appear. This is what has always happened in every Event - the first day starts in the early morning in the US but rolls to the next day in the early evening.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem for me as I usually log in to the game around mid-morning, but I got caught up in some RL "stuff" and didn't get in until the "day" was almost over.

Because that is how all this stuff is done. Day one of an event or season is only 15 or 16 hours, and the extra 8 or 9 hours to make it a full 24 hours are added to the end of the event, after the final full day.

That works fine for an event. There's no requirement that quests be done by the end of the day. Having Seasons start with a short day leaves those with jobs little or no time to complete the dailies before they go poof. Might be how it's always been done, but then it hasn't been doing it where there was a penalty imposed due to first day being short either.

Well, that extra 8 or 9 hours at the end of the season also gets you a 76th set of daily quests, so you are actually getting a set of dailies to complete in 15 hours at the start, 74 sets at 24 hours each, and a set to complete at the end in 9 hours. That is good for all of us who log into the game every evening after the start of each game day.

In every online game, this issue comes up, not just here in the world of Elvenar. Every Event, Contest, Tourney, and Spire must have a fixed start point. At some point, it must begin and end, and within those time there are some that will be disadvantaged due to work, real-life issues, vacations, sleep or shenanigans, and so on. On the opposite side, there will always be some that will gain an advantage from this, and it cannot be helped or compensated for. By the very nature of online gaming, time zones will always favor some over others.

If the first day of season of harvest being a little short was the worst thing that happened to you today then it wasn't that bad of a day. Relax, it's only a game. There are much worse things in the world to get upset about.
