Hi, new to the game. Observed and questioning the following:

1. Beta, EnWorld (Int'l), and US Servers and forums. Is one better than the other?

2. Worlds, Arandall (sp) and Winyandor. Is one better than the other?

3. Wiki (Elvenar) . It seems you can log in to an already created account, but not able to create an account initially (at least without a pistol and/or a Bible!) Help please on this one anybody?

thank you !

  1. Beta is unusual in that there's a much higher percentage of bug hunting and metagame suggestions. The regional servers, and the related forums, are language focused, and the servers are usually local.
  2. It's pure sequence as the established worlds become full. Mature worlds will have fewer bump and go visits, so they'll have fewer inactive cities. But you'll also be way behind the power curve, if that matters to you.
  3. You only need to log on to the wiki if you're responsible for the content. For most of us it's a read-only experience.

1. Beta tests game updates a week in advance of all other regional servers. The language is English but a very high percentage of their players either don't speak English or English is their second/third language. US servers were the first public servers to launch after the closed Beta period. Since we had more members than most other servers we were also the first to get a second world. Most players on the US servers are from the United States, (since we were the first, we also have a fair share of non-English speakers and foreign English-speakers as well) and ad campaigns in the US are likely to wind up gaining new registrations on this server. The EN servers are functionally the same of the US server, the difference lies in the communities. Most of the people you meet on US will generally be American while on the EN servers, you're more likely to meet people from the UK, France, Germany, Australia, etc... Please note, also that each Market has it's own Community Manager and separate Support Teams. As Katwijk said, the servers are also local - the US server is located in Florida, so it provides better communication and more consistent speeds than the EN server (which are hosted at Inno's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany) for most US-users.

2. Arendyll is older, Winyandor is newer. One is not better than the other. In fact, you can play on both worlds and be an Elf and a Human, if you wish.

3. Katwijk summed it up well. To add to that, the developers are the only people with access to the Wiki for editing purposes.

Newbie question on the two worlds: where do you go to find out which one you're playing in? And where to get access to the other world?

You can look at your URL bar to see which world you are in the prefix to "Elvenar.com" will either be "US1." or "US2.". US1 is Arendyll, US2 is Winyandor. You can also log out of the game by clicking the "Gear" Icon and then clicking the "Power Button" at the top of that menu to log out. Click the login button and you should be able to select a new world to play on (Worlds in Green mean you already have an account on that world.)

You can also click on the roll bar at the top of the login page, and select an entirely different group of worlds using a separate account, or some other InnoGames product for that matter.
