Should I keep buildings?

I've finished the section on Orcs and am doing Woodelves. Do I need to keep all the Orc related buildings, e.g. mushroom farms. Can I sell them to make room for new buildings?

You can sell them. In many cases selling will provide you with the resources to place the new buildings not to mention the land.

I think you get a quest that pays diamonds for selling the orc portal, if you get to the quest and you already sold the portal you can just rebuild it(lv1) and sell it for the reward.

No that quest is to have exactly zero orc portals in your city.
