This week I noticed that the Spire progress meter does not always match the current point count. At one point we were one point short of the next level, but the meter was showing barely past the completed level. It remained until I exited and returned to the game. At least one other FS member has now reported the same problem.

This sounds like your game/s simply needed a refresh to allow the new data to not be blocked by any outdated that your device was caching. This an be common across the game, why we recommend cache clearing at least after every update of event launch.
