Feedback Spire Improvements

So now if you need to spend diamonds to finish encounters by getting 4th try you also get penalized on top of that? How is that fair? If this is the case, I guess I am back to hating the Spire. I guess only Inno would think it is a good idea to punish players for spending $. Oh yeah. Almost forgot they punished players for years in the battle difficulty if we spent $ on premium expansions
  • Solving encounters diplomatically increases your Diplomacy Streak. If your diplomatic approach fails or you give up after round 2, the streak resets. The reward does not increase beyond a streak of 4.

I think it's the other way around. If your third guess isn't right, you have to spend Diamonds to get a fourth/etc. guess (until you succeed) or else you lose your streak.

(Of course, whether you think losing the streak is a penalty or not depends upon whether you want lower difficulty or higher rewards.)

Apparently, I am sooo confused

I have to admit that I haven't looked into this streak thing yet because I mostly fight the spire.

Regarding the SBS in comparison, it decides only about how much Radiant Stones one gets per spire encounter.
So if I should get a lower SBS one day I would get a little less Radiant Stones per spire encounter - No big penalty at all I guess. ;)

Plus it was said that enemy squad size will raise, the higher the SBS, so it might be benefitical to not trying to raise SBS at a certain point.
After 6 weeks of gold spire on beta with the new features, I could still fight my way up to the top and wasn't able to experience any strong changes.
This will probably only really become noticeable in long-term use. I already got used to that thought to negotiate the whole spire one day in order to lower my SBS.
Being an Allrounder always seemed pretty pracitcal to me in Elvenar and it seems like that with the new spire features it still is.

If I don't get a decent first round in the spire, I will reset and try again until I get 2 that match or 2 don't need it. With the new rules, I will be penalized for playing smart.
As far I understand it you can reset after the first round but not after the 2nd.

Even just negotiate some hard encounters might help or losing troops on purpose in the first encounters could be the right thing to do, I hope someone is coming up with all the numbers on it.

Losing troops on purpose seems very expensive to me. I wonder how an encounter that's won with just 4 stacks (and none lost) would count. I remember doing that once a long time ago, the 5th squad would only have taken hits, so I started with just 4. Took no casualties then.

The first encounters don't need a lot of troops, but it would be tiresome to lose troops in manual battle. Sending in 4 stacks is an interesting idea, maybe that counts. :)

I think they will have thought of that. :D

It's relatively difficult to understand anyway if you don't take notes while playing the spire.
The only thing you notice is the total change from week to week due to the SBS value.

When it was first introduced on beta, I thought "Ok I will change nothing and just continue with in my usual style of play and see how far I will get."

I am still in this phase.

Here is my current SBS. I only auto fighted because I am a lazy and impatient multiworlder. :D

said the spider to the fly...
:D No no, not like that! :) It really won't be bad. The first weeks of new spire seemed, to me as a fighter, even easier.

They only added a longterm self-adjustable additonal reward option with them Radiant Stones per spire encounter.
These Radiant Stones are accepted as means of payment by Harold.

No nasty nerf this time! Would have been to hard after the "Great Wonder Changes" and "The Great Spire Changes".
This time they didn't have nerfed the spire but they have "pimped" it.

Thinker of Ideas
Few questions tho. I watched innos little video on the new new spire. Left me wondering a few things.

1. It talks about the new currency thing to buy from harald trader guy. But he only replenishes his supplies once every 6 weeks. And yet the limit on the items we can be is soooooooo small.
3 petfoods in 6 weeks?? Which is 1 petfood every two weeks!
15 cats in 6 weeks?? = 2.5 cats a week!
6 teleport spells in 6 weeks?? = 1 per week!

Those caps seem horrendously low. To the point of insulting.
I thought it... might... be ok if it was replenished every week. Soon as i thought that the video chimes in that he resupplies every 6 weeks... ><
It was quite infuriating to me. A good idea, implemented horribly. (I guess its still a step up for inno compared to the last few updates.)

But... the one thing the video did not really show or mention where the spire chests. The ones we normally get random rewards from. It doesnt really say if we are still getting those rewards as well?? If we still do, it doesnt show/say WHAT those rewards are, much less the quantity. Are they there at all?? Are they the same as they were last month (live server)?? Revert back to the better pool of rewards from before the spire screw job?? A whole new redesign/redistribution of chest rewards???? What is it?
The answer to that can greatly effect the over all rewards. If are limited to only the rewards we buy.. then were screwed. So that naturally makes me think that inno might have actually done that. - If the chest rewards are still there, then what they offer still greatly effects where this will be a good update or not.
Also, if we have rewards chests still, did we get our damn time instants back!? I noticed there were none in the shop. Not that it would matter. It would probably be just a 15 min booster x2 cap >< But inno killing the time instants was the one that made me go from doing full spire every week, to barely doing anything to the point of forgetting the spire was there half the time. So if thats still an issue, then i got a problem.

On a slightly different note..
Frog King... why? Just... why?
The video promotes this new expiring building that gives kp 'every 24h' although the visual says 3kp/10h. So... 7.2kp/24?
If there is one thing most players seem to care less about these days, its kp. Ever since inno screwed over our ability to upgrade aw's, weve all had hoards of kp just sitting around doing nothing. We cant use em on aw's because we cant upgrade them. So getting kp is almost worthless. Tech kp only go a short distance.
So we tend to have hoards of kp lying around with no use... kp still being given out as rewards every single event.. and innos great idea to promote the new new spire is.... giving an item that takes up room in our city that makes even more useless kp?????? What kinda stuff are these ppl at inno on?? - its a car man.. and it runs on water!

The only good thing i see so far is this fs spire aw. That actually looks interesting. Youll probably also never hear ppl complaining about something that will give them more expansions in there city. Although im sure it will take a while to get them. But i do have some questions about how that works.
Since its based on the fs and not the individual player...
Does a player have to participate in spire or upgrading the aw to gain access to the expansion or is it fs wide automatically?
After a fs has a few expansions unlocked from the aw, and a new player joins the fs, do they suddenly gain access to those expansions the fs got? If a player leaves a fs, do they lose those expansion??

The bonus chests are unchanged, both their frequency and their rewards.

I'm not sure where you got the idea it is connected to the fellowship...it's just another AW that's individual to each player, like every other AW. The only differences are that it doesn't take any physical footprint in the city, it can only be upgraded with "Spirit Orbs" which work just like runes and are a reward at every boss in the Spire now, and every level needs Spirit Orbs to upgrade, no KP. And it will take quite a while to get it upgraded; by my napkin math, 4+ years of weekly Spire topping.
