Trader/ Opening a gateway

Ok, I am new here so please be patient. I did the research for a trader. Now the quest giver says open a gateway. What does that entail? Is it an actual gateway? I saw a tread on Trader from 2016 asking the same question but it wasn't explained. It mentioned a set of scales at the bottom of the screen. I don't have those.

I'm glad you found your answer but now I'm wondering what it was. I don't recall anything called "gateway." Is it part of a specific chapter, or ancient wonder, or event prize...? Is that simply placing the trader the first time? I'm confused and wondering what gateway there is (that I apparently forgot about). Thanks

It's probably the phrasing used in a quest. The quest givers can be pretty dramatic sometimes. :)
