I can report both items reported here so far:
- no regular buffs showing (buildings, etc)
- no difference in losses (Spire or Tournament) compared to late December when the buffs showed properly.

Then they are wrong. I put out the exact same buildings every week and feed the Phoenix and no extra troop losses at all when compared to previous tournaments.

I agree with you. I would've lost a lot more troops if my FIre Phoenix, DA, and trees were not working.
