Watchful Owl evolving building

I have the Watchful Owl evolving building.
Fed it for the first time, did my gold-hand neighborly visits, and expected to get extra goods but that did not happen. (See below.)
"Rewards a certain amount of Goods when opening a Neighborly Help Chest, depending on the amount of completed Province."
What does this mean?

My understanding is the reward should be in the three chests that you can randomly get when giving Neighborly Help. The ones that pop up in a separate window saying "You've received this gift."

I agree, I would not feed mine. The reset for those chests is a certain time of day (dinner-time-ish for me in the middle of the US). It is therefore possible to feed your owl, do some visits for chests shortly before the roll-over time, then more visits after the reset for three more chests. I still don't think it's worth it, but that is the way to maximize the effect.

I do all visits at about the about the same time every morning. I can feed the owl do my visits and collect 3 chests and then just visit an hour earlier the next day to collect 3 more chests.
