Can someone clarify the feeding effect for me, please?

I see that it says "random boosted Standard Goods" and the quantity given is 957.
Does this mean for the duration of one feeding, I'll receive a sum total of 957 steel in random neighbourly help chests?
Or I will receive a series of chests, each containing 957 steel? If so, how many chests?
I have umpteen pages of neighbours... Is having more neighbours a benefit here, or is it a set amount per feeding?

@Sodbury that quantity times 3 neighbourhood visit help chests each day. I am not sure of the duration of the feeding effect.

The feeding effect is 24 hrs, so if you can time it right, you should be able to do neighborly help (23hr cooldown) twice during that 24hr period. I haven't tried it though, so this is speculative.

Also, I confused basic and standard goods in my first post. It seems now that I could receive 957 steel, crystal, or elixir three times per feeding. Six times, if I'm organized.

The above answers are correct, but I'd like to add that I'd be shocked if you didn't have a better use for pet food now or at least in the future.

Note that for the chapter 20 wonder (scout's tavern) there would be additional chests.
