Winter Event - Worst payouts of any event

I have tried and tried to win something with this winter event and I am getting nothing. I sent in a ticket and was told it was gambling. I understand the odds, but I can honestly say this is the worst pay out I have ever encountered in any event in the 7 months or so I have been playing this game. I am very unhappy with rolling 10 times with 140 keys each roll over two accounts and get nothing. I am not the only one either. I am reading this over and over in chat with others. Something has changed with the payouts.

With a 75% chance of not getting the daily building in each box, the chances of "losing" in all 10 boxes is just over 5%. Totally sucks, but it's bound to happen.
I am not the only one either.
Definitely not, with a 1:20 chance of that happening, every full FS should have at least one person that it happens to.

Just a tip: small boxes give more daily prizes, and can also smooth out the curve.

Sure I understand its bound to happen. The thing is, it honestly never has before this event. I am also getting similar feedback from other players as well. Did they change the method of awarding prizes? It seems there is some noticeable change point.

If you check the threads from other events you'll see the exact same posts as the ones you are making. It's human nature that even if we understand the odds, we can't believe when they don't go our way.
It's a 1 in 4 chance with the big box, and the average player will never even think about it when they win on the 3rd try, but the same player will be annoyed if it takes 5 tries.

You said it's never happened to you before, which kinda proves the point. If 10 fails in a row only happens 1 in 20 times, and it's only happened to you 1 in 20 times....

That makes more sense because you were due for it. If it never happened at all that would be weird. ;)
@SoggyShorts Didn't someone start a conspiracy thread about this last event?... I can't recall who it was. LOL

Edit: I found it:

I suspect, based on hearsay and very little data and ignoring that people are way more likely to vocalize failure over success, that the event daily building % text is higher than the actual code.

1 in 20 is a not insignificant number. Human beings tend to talk more about bad experiences when they are fresh, but over time blot sub par results from their memory. It is probably not the first time it has happened to someone you know, but they've set it aside. meanwhile, those to whom it is happening currently are making more noise than the others.

I was wondering if the odds had shifted the other way. Last event I had to try six or seven times or more to get things I wanted on the "25%" odds. This time I got the things I was trying for on the first try - two times in a row. That's gambling for you.

I have used hundreds of keys during this event and have not received anything. These events take away from my daily play. It is all about the money. Inno is wanting people to give up and buy diamonds. NOT ME INNO!

"It is obviously a conspiracy by Inno to make us buy diamonds"
Is it a conspiracy if it's true but it's not a secret?
You could always just ignore them.
What are you thinking? It's much easier for the devs to make it so everyone can complete the quest as soon as they want while growing their city at their preferred pace. How can you be so cruel?

As you say Soggy, some are lucky and some are not. We are more inclined to bitch about unlucky circumstances and blame it on the system rather than the random aspect of attempts. Just yesterday: First spin, 200 crowns, second spin 140 crowns, third spin 25 KPs, 4th spin shipwreck and quit. In this particular environment, I would consider this draw pretty lucky. Others may not. Really depends upon your perception of "lucky"...Right?

That's a pretty sweet roll, and I'm glad things are balancing out for you.:)
In my personal experience across 2 live servers I've been "average" each event +/- 1 building, but it's only because W has good results that make up for K throwing snake-eyes like it's his job. We'll see how this event ends up, I thought about ditching K, but if nothing else he's doing a fine job soaking up all the bad joojoo;)

Edit: Right after posting this I filled the level 5 rune wheel on my EE using 11 runes on K world... How's that for luck?

I'm only slightly trying. I just don't see a bit deal as I don't want to use up land space for the big prizes. Speaking of big prizes, if diamonds were part of them then I could see it being a big deal. :D

A lot of it is sheer luck. I watched my partner win two frozen shipwrecks back to back in one of his cities, yet in his other two he got Instances and KP. He had 294 keys. He put down 140 and got the shipwreck, and while I was patting him on the back, he put down the 50, and got a second one. I laughed, because now he has to work to get expansions for them.

Tonight, about 15 minutes ago, I got the Frozen Fountain in my Beta city, and nearly fell out of my chair. I didn't expect it, but boy am I thrilled. The irony is that I need an expansion now. :p
