Coordinate System

Some type of Coordinate System on the World Map would be very useful.
that way when you talk to someone in the forums you would have some idea where they were.
it could be useful if the game ever gets a In-Game Chat.

You can visit any city that you wish, by clicking on your rank and then searching in the popup.

The world map tessellates, so a coordinate system isn't as useful as you might assume. The pattern is
Gems, Silk, Planks, Magic Dust, Scrolls, Steel, Elixir, Crystal, Marble
The next resource row is offset a bit to the right
Then there's a row of cities
Rinse and Repeat

The pattern extends forever in all directions, so a relative address is about the best that you could hope for.

I was think more as being able to get an idea of which direction and how far to look.
But if there is not a Zero point then it might be hard to do that.

Should be, but yu can never tell how someone will do things

I think a vector would be more useful - indicate a player name, or a type of relic, or whatever, and the interface says it's so many sectors thataway.

The vector from your own city would always be shown and, so long as we're dreaming, could be bookmarked for a subsequent return.

We already have two of the elements, because we can jump to a Scout and to our own City.

I agree, being able to locate someone on the map, using our own city as a starting point would be very useful.
I realise I can visit anyones city already but it is knowing where they are in relation to where we are that is important. That way if it is feasible to one day 'discover' them then we can choose which direction on our map we would like to work toward. (earning relics aside of course)

a Vector Arrow Report may also look like a scouting report, which would fit into the theme of the game.
