How to assess value of item when comparing items not producing same materials

I have seen the assessment from soggyshorts mentioned. But that was ages ago.

My cities are OLD. MY oldest has been dragged along till I am in top 80 on US Fely. I am a tag along in that fellowship.

I am a hoarder. Am In chapter 19 race area almost completely upgraded. . I do not need spell fragments and have things like grand Auction upgraded available.

I am watching players in chapter 20, in the top 10 of the world put in 'slums' of what ever they can find for mana. The Facebook questions I saw are about seeds.

We had a push FA. I stored my workshops. I am making so much mana I for get to spell them.

How do I assess and plan now to optimize for what is coming?

Now that's a question. What's your goal? If you want to climb the ranking level, that's one thing. To do the tournament to the max is another. To finish the next chapter ASAP, is yet another. In other words, it depends on your goals.

For instance, if you want to be in a "top 3" FA team you would use space for some some kind of "slum." And with that, to develop your T1 boosted so you can have a bunch of them. In other words, you'd be looking at what you would need to get all those badges in the next FA and building accordingly.

If, on the other hand, you want to finish the next chapter ASAP, you carefully count what was needed to do that, and build accordingly.

Ditto for tournament, beauty, efficiency. So what's your goal?

I am in a top 3 ranked fellowship.. Rank is not my priority. being a position or 2 in better on my page 2 would be nice.
On a whim we took first place in the last FA. They had not let me go all out in ages Take 2+ years of hoarded teleports, remove everything that could be moved and go all out. Adding more T1 but storing extra.

I am getting 3-4k points in the the Tournament. Going out to about province 30. Losing less troops would be nice.

I am tired of races seeming to take forever. 19 I am waiting of the A goods for upgrades. The reports of chapter 20 are needing 10 x what I keep on hand.

I want to know what to keep to make my summoning's useful.

My number 2 city is an FA specialist. with 14 T1 maxed in storage. also old. On any push FA , that city finishes first.

My builders in city one are about to get bored for some time to come.

I am suddenly seeing my mentors get to chapter 19 and 20 and start having to change styles. INNO has thrown new curves and i want to be on the front of the curve not the back.

Once you decide on your goal, as @ajqtrz suggested, I would do some math. Add together how many supplies, coins, and different goods you will need to get through the chapter. Build and max out what you need to make the most you can in the most efficient time span you can. If you are going to do it slowly in conjunction with the upcoming FA or tourney/spire, calculate what you want to achieve per week and build accordingly. Everything depends on what you want to do and how fast you want to do it. If it's rank you're after, then max out your AW's, especially the thrones. Thing is, before you decide on rank, look at what your rank will be with your PERMANENT builds. Upgrade the things you don't intend to store or delete. That will hold your rank steady.
