Instants and the MA?

If I have 2 spells queued up, and the first one has a timer of 2h left, and the second spell has the full 13h left for 15h total, what happens when I use a 14h timer reduction?
a) the first spell completes, and the remaining 12h are applied to the second spell leaving 1h on it
b) the first spell completes, and the remaining 12h is wasted leaving the second spell with the full 13h remaining

A) is the answer, the instant will take time off the full amount of time in the Magic Academy! Have used it myself.
