Does anyone know if Combining Catalysts count as "enchantments" for the Winter Quests?

No bug report on this in Beta, so we will just have to wait and see.

If they are rehashing the same quests with the same code, then it is a possibility that the new enchantments were not counted. If it is the case that they are not counted, a bug report should be submitted.

If I had knew it would not start today, i could have gone for upgrading goldsmith 7 and 8 to the max, then my quest line would be closer to the finish and i would have had more space to prepare

They don't always start a week after Beta. Usually the winter event goes up to and beyond New Year - so for that to happen this time, it will have to start in early December.

The new seasonal event will run in Beta World from 19 November to 20th December. Most likely it will follow in the Live Worlds seven days later - although this is not always the case.

It's been announced that Winter will start two weeks after it will on Beta.
And yes, as SS said, Catalysts count as Enchantments. Not, however, for the Dragon Abbey. Which is unfortunate. Add THAT to the list of possible improvements for Crafting: Catalysts counting towards the Dragon Abbey.

But why would they? You do not activate them in any way. They are just used up when crafting.

Technically, the CC is not an enchantment. It's a new class of item that the MA produces using relics

All I'm saying is those people who focus on Crafting will be throwing the Mana production of the Dragon Abbey out the window... and most the people who won't be focusing on CCs are the ones Chapters I-V, due to lack of enough spells. And of coures, back there the Abbey isn't a possibility. It might be a new class of item, but it is placed under "Enchantments". So they should totally give mana if you have the dragon abbey when you craft something.
