Overhead Maps

It would be super helpful if there was an overhead, two dimensional map showing our buildings and open squares. It could make everything so much easier.

Something similar to this was brought up, developed, and sent to the devs and now has a label of Planned ; that thread is here
Note the last post in that thread: this is probably a longer term 'planned' than we'd like. Apparently there are performance issues involved, but at least they like the idea.
In the meantime, have you found ElvenStats where you can import your city to ElvenArchitect and work with your bldgs/space there? Those are both player-maintained sites, so you'll still have to re-do your city manually, but it helps.

I can't speak for others but I cannot navigate on Elvenarchitect using my available devices.

I puzzle it out in my head and miscalculate spectacularly sometimes!

Not yet (my experience)
I say "yet" because I hope they're working on it.
I love this tool and even better if I can use it on mobile and not only on desktop.
