Should researching the street in Chapter 5 be mandatory research or optional? It is only needed for further optional research.

If it should be optional, it would be clearer that way.
At the moment it is optional because you can finish the chapter without exploring the road. But it can be overlooked very quickly.

Neither is optional as I said, because another research
needs it completed.

Yes, Ornate Street only goes to SS+ 13, but that very
research needs 3 things completed ahead. SSM also
needs 2 things completed, not just the street.

Your 2nd pic is , uhhhhh, fake .....

Here is CH6, where an example of what you want
is. Both are Optional and that seems clear to me.
