Question about granite mines and copper foundries

Will there be a need to keep the granite mines and copper foundries once you have completed the Dwarven chapter?

No reason at all. You might want to produce a little extra so you can make dwarven roads. Once you sell the portal you wont be able to see your granite or copper inventory but you can still use it to make dwarven style roads(if you want to).

There's also a quest to sell the settlement portal in the next chapter so you can hang on to the portal until that quest to earn some extra coins.
