Now that there is crafting in the game, why not make it so that we can craft 10 broken shards into a "master rune shard" that can be used in any AW?

That's how it works now. Once your broken shard bar is full, you can go any AW that needs a shard and the ten Broken shards will fill one of it's slots.

Good in theory but there's already so much recipe bloat.
Ashrem, I think the idea is that this would let you bank broken shards at any time. The strategy above only works if you currently have a need to forge the runes.
I doubt this gets implemented if only because they just added a few other uses for broken shards in the recipes.
