When I go to battle in the tourneys, my available troops are each listed as "<999x" and when I try to fight and try to add troops, it shows "0" as the number being added. I'm getting the error in multiple browsers.

The issue is most likely due to a display error. If you are still seeing this after a game refresh please follow the bug reporting template so we can investigate this issue further.

Closing the browser and clearing the cache resolved the issue.
