I did the research on the trader and I can't find it to build it. How do you get the trader after you have done the research.

Click on the build icon at the bottom of the screen. The trader is on page 2 of the basic buildings menu.
The requirements to place are:
A 3x4 available space
50 population
5000 coins
200 supplies
and it needs to be connected to a road leading to your Main hall
