Is it possible to use existing diamonds to buy additional keys, or do you have to buy new diamonds? I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but maybe I'll get lucky.

Try it. You can always back out of the screen!

@fitress you can use your existing Diamonds to purchase keys from the game panel. If you're looking at a promotion where keys are a bonus for a Diamond purchase, then you would need to buy new Diamonds.
