I believe they changed the new join script about the 11th to place all new joins on the map, with a Main hall, builder, 1 house, 1 workshop, 1 statue and gave 10 KPs to cover the research.

• Is it possible that they just skipped the tutorial? Folks only see the tutorial in their FIRST world. In subsequent worlds they start at the end of the tutorial, and that would yield similar results.
• http://www.teamopolis.com/tools/bbcode-table-generator.aspx is a handy tool for generating forum compatible BBCode tables, and the site allows you to save your data in a cookie. My requirements are a bit more complex so I use a spreadsheet with BBCode that I've generated by hand, but the code generator may be ideal for what you're doing.

Kat: The question I ask, maybe someone can help is:
Did they change the start of the game to place all new joins on the map? See details above of what greeted me upon opening a new world? This configuration at start is what we see all over in dead cities. I just don't remember, but do not think I stated out with 10 KPs and a build at opening the first time. no critique here, if the changed it, it was a smart move.

As a educated guess, folks are placed on the map when they select the build menu for the first time, usually during the tutorial step where you're encouraged to build a residence. On subsequent worlds you'll be on the map immediately, because you've jumped to the end of the tutorial.

As to WHY there are so many "zero score" players in the roster, I haven't a clue but I'd expect the marketing department to be really worried that so many people are trying to join Elvenar, but are falling short of the mark.

I've never been tempted to track any of the zero score players to see if they're deleted after 20+ days, because other than making the roster longer they don't effect game play at all, because they're not on the map and there's no reason to visit their cities.

This is one possibility of a zero score player: someone that clicked a start game, but never actually started.

If you have a city in Aren, you can look to see if my name appears with a zero score to confirm/refute this. I never started a city there, but one day I accidentally clicked Arendyll and it sent me to the screen to choose to be an elf or human. I just hit back on the browser and went to the world I wished to play in. However, now Aren shows up as a world I've "played in" on the log in screen. If I click, it just takes me back to the choose screen, which I never pick one so have never formed a city.

It's just as you predicted. BUT, since the developers started working the Goldmines, clicking on most of the zero cities (presumably the ones that are not on the map) throws a Stream Error if you try to visit the city.

The OWNER can still get to their city, but nobody else can visit, and presumably if the Owner builds a few things then their city would be on the map and we'd be able to visit it.

So there's a loose end at the moment, but it's not even an inconvenience.

• Joins still look like 500 per day but only 200 make in onto the map of those only 150 do anything and less than 80 go on to play by adding a house or workshop. This is 16%
• Wish I could be up from 10 PM - 6 AM EST to catch the actual purge run, but I need my sleep. Any Europeans out there that want to help from 4 AM to noon German time?

Something I've seen posted before and a question... how do I know if any of my dead neighbours have been turned into a gold mine?

Where there was a city with a player name on the map, there is now just a big gold coin. In my Khel city, they did a purge a month ago. None of those mines has filled in; in fact, more have been added since. I give neighborly help to the 1 neighbor who helps me.

I just went for a stroll and visited every possible player in my opened area...I guess my neck of the woods hasn't had a purge. The same cities with 3 buildings and a broken road are still sitting there... for ages now...
