OK Calm Down!!!!!

Quoting confidential information, from support tickets, is a violation of the forum rules. The moderators are not even permitted to acknowledge that such conversations even occurred. Consequently you should report your own observations in the production world, although we do allow "heads up" commentary from your Beta world efforts.

Alright so with regards to queenpatrica: the benifit to you would be Huge upgrade in gold production,23,400-39,520 which you can now leave your game for longer while still having gold production. The fact that your residence would now require an additional 165 culture with a corresponding rise in ranking points. Your population went fron 420- 700 which is a pretty good boost. One of the hidden benifits is If you have the room to increase your residences, instead of replace, then you get the added residence with 0 resource cost. 0 gold 0 supplies and 0 manufactured resource costs.

kayleegrrl: since I don't have a screen shot(full) from your post I would need the top part of your magical residences to see all costs and benifits. Though from what I have seen it seems at low levels is actually a down grade. This being said check the gold production. If it is lower I would send in a full screen shot to Support and ask why and if they could adjust this in the next maintenance.

faefrog: AMEN SISTER!!!! CLARITY..... it is what I have been asking for in the area of purchasing new stuff. Put all the data in the purchasing area so we can make a freakin informed descision. I think once the issue of transference to the higher levels is worked out in the next maintenence or two you will be much happier. I still am not sure how they intend to make the upgrade a paid upgrade, it better not cost additional diamonds as it would just make everyone wait till ORCS to buy the 990 diamond upgrade then.

Jewess: my FS has been sitting the fence on this upgrade as well, but I think as soon as we see what the fix for the leveled up MR will be we will make our descision then. We can't seem to agree how a magical building would be upgraded with items you can make.

My thoughts on the upgrade are they should have made the upgrade an overlay, to be placed over the existing building which would just allow the building to continue to expand normally but give it a say 30-50% boost to all population, gold and culture benifit/costs

OK so now that this is all calmed down back to my original question I need help figuring out which is better for squares per population and culture. It has the added factor of gold production as well.????? GSP vs magical residence and magical workshop vs other buildings?

I contacted support and they thankfully offered to credit me back my diamonds in exchange for return of the residences and workshops. I am very pleased with that outcome. I really didn't want a bunch of level 7 residences on my board when I'm level 18.

From what I understand now, you buy them levelled at the your current level bracket (it's not exact) in order to upgrade, you have to reach that level in the knowledge tree and pay full price as it would cost to buy a new one from the builder menu. So you only gain the upgrade benefits for the price of what you could get all of the existing level's benefits for plus the upgrade benefits. If you're super tight on space, that might be a choice that you would make regardless of the cost/benefit loss. I still like the benefits they provide, I will just purchase differently knowing what I know now about the cost/leveling issues.

The ones purchased by greenpatricia are leveled much higher than I am now. The first magical residences I purchased were level 2, (looks like level 7 regular residence) the most recent one was a level 3 (looks like level 10 regular residence), they don't level the same way regular residences do. I wish they had a wiki for them. This is my best estimation of what they look like for anyone else wanting info... see the photos for benefits.

Not sure about level 1, guessing they look like level 4. I have no details on benefits.
Level 2 looks like level 7
Level 3 looks like level 10
Level 4 looks like level 12
Level 5 looks like 15
Level 6 looks like level 17

I'm guessing there is also a level 7 and 8 looking like levels 19 and 21.

http://www.elvenarchitect.com/buildings/details/r_elves_premium_residential/ here is link to magic houses bonuses depend what chapter you in. If you are in orc chapter then magic house gives more people then Giant snail per square. For magic workshop you cant put spell on it so normal ones with spell gives more supplies then magic workshop also quest from magic workshop don't count , so i would not buy these yet i got one just to test it....

Oh, now I get how the top ranked people have no houses. I wondered. I recently built the Golden Abyss which I am happy has some population along with its coin generation. I'm not sure about the others. I am afraid I don't know from experience, but I found this helpful. Oddly, the snail isn't on it.

Jorian and other top players do have houses. smile.....they are orc style. look nothing like houses.. ugly as all get out. but they do have them.

I’ve tidied up some stacked posts. This remedial post isn’t “just” about this thread but is intended, rather, to avoid future issues and the consequent warnings that we’re obliged to issue when gentle doesn't get people's attention.
  • The easiest technique is to simply start typing in the reply box at the bottom of the page.
  • If you want to add another thought, and it would make sense to revise your recently posted message,
simply click the "Edit" link just below your posted message.
  • If you want to add attributed quotes to a message that you’re already posted, you can
Cut them from the normal edit box and then Paste them into an edit box for the existing message.
For a more elaborate conversation, a very effective technique is to multi-quote SNIPPETS (not the entire message which we’ve already read) that you MIGHT want to respond to, as you're reading the messages on each page.

index.php
  • Click Reply only if you want to quote one entire message
  • Click + Quote if you want to quote several entire messages
  • Highlight and click Reply if you want to quote one snippet
  • Highlight and click + Quote if you want to quote several snippets
If you're using + Quote, you can actually reorganize the snippets before you insert them into the edit box at the bottom of the page.

The desired outcome is a single, nicely organized, easy to read post
that's responsive to the various issues that have been raised during the previous several hours.

OVERLY LARGE graphics chew up a lot of bandwidth and they consequently slow down page loads. Animated gifs are simply irritating.

Our forum rules are available at [URL='https://us.forum.elvenar.com/...m/index.php?threads/forum-rules.702/[/URL[/U]]
but multi-posting and graphics are the most common issues.
  • Embedded graphics may not be larger than 640h x 480v pixels. If it simply has to be larger, please bury it under a spoiler tag.
  • Signature blocks, including image links and all text, may not display larger than 500h x 150v pixels.
  • Animated gifs may not be displayed.
  • Support ticket conversations are confidential, and references thereto will be removed.
  • Material from other forums, particularly discussions about beta features that are not yet in production, are generally discouraged unless you bury them under a spoiler tag.

The syntax for a spoiler tag is listed as part of the general BBCODE help
that’s available under the Help tag in the lower right of all forum pages.
Code:
[SPOILER=Subject]Bury your oversized graphics, or Beta treasures, under a spoiler tag.[/SPOILER]

Bury your oversized graphics, or Beta treasures, under a spoiler tag.

We also have comprehensive support for tabular data.

An announcement was just made today that there is an issue with up grading these buildings. Did not say what the issue was, just that there was one and they were working on it.
