Release Notes

Dear Humans and Elves,

We will have a temporary downtime on Thursday, September 5 in order to roll out version 1.87 to our server. Please check back for any further updates regarding this release.

During the expected downtime, you will not be able to access the game. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.


  • We continue our ongoing efforts to improve the user interface with changes to how productions are set up in your city. Some of these features will only become available to a small percentage of players at first, while we thoroughly test their technical performance. Their activation is detached from the update.

Balancing Changes

  • Several changes were introduced for the Crafting system in the Magic Academy. These changes align the costs and benefits of certain items and follow player feedback on recipe availability and clutter:
    • Changed timer for new recipes from 8 hours to 6 hours, and reduced Diamond costs for the earlier creation of new recipes from 75 to 50 Diamonds.
    • Several new recipes were added into the Crafting rotation.
      • The following evolving buildings can be crafted for 1200 Spell Fragments and 8 Combining Catalysts if no other instance of the same building is present in either city or inventory:
        • Fire Phoenix (Stage 1)
        • Storm Phoenix (Stage 1)
        • Aureate Phoenix (Stage 1)
        • Stonehenge (Stage 1)
        • Mermaid's Paradise (Stage 1)
      • 30x Royal Restoration - 3150 Spell Fragments, 3 Blueprints
      • Portal Profit 20% - 3000 Spell Fragments, 10 Combining Catalysts
      • Booster 20h - 960 Spell Fragments, 3 Combining Catalysts
    • Lowered the number of available Pet Food recipes in the recipe pool. This should allow players without pets to craft more meaningful items while players with pets can keep gathering food to activate Pet Food effects for special occasions.
    • Removed recipes for items that were not commonly crafted and/or brought clutter to the recipe list.

    • Adjusted recipe costs and Vision Vapor returns for several Instants to streamline crafting costs across the different versions of the Spell
    • Lowered the amount of Spell Fragments earned by disenchanting event buildings by 50%. Subsequently lowered recipe costs and gained Vision Vapor for event buildings in Crafting.
    • Lowered the amount of Spell Fragments earned by disenchanting Evolution Artifacts from 1500 to 1000 Spell Fragments

Bug Fixes

As with every update, we've resolved a number of bugs, among which:

  • Battle - If not all units were researched yet, selectable units would sometimes jump and change positions in the unit selection screen. They have now been shown their correct seats and advised to stay in position until sent off to battle.
  • Ancient Wonders - Needles of the Tempest was showing its Training Speed bonus in absolute numbers instead of percentages, as expected. The effect is now displayed properly.
  • Armory - Fixed the tooltip in the build menu to always reflect the added training size upon placing this building in the city.
  • Buildings - Due to a rounding error, the Temple of the Phoenix was adding an incorrect amount of goods to the city (+1 on each collection). This is no longer the case.
  • Evolving Buildings - The wrong Chapter (current) and correspondingly wrong values were displayed in the inventory for any Evolving Buildings obtained in a previous Chapter.
  • Evolving Buildings - Once two or more Evolving Buildings of the same type were placed in the city, building values, production amounts and produced items could be displayed and granted improperly. This no longer occurs and all building bonuses are now applied correctly.


Note: the app version of the update is released separately from the browser version.

  • On Android devices it is now possible to use the back button to navigate back through menus in the game and close windows. Once all windows are closed, the back button will close the app, but only after a confirmation of the intent to close the app.
  • The effect of the Ancient Wonder "Dragon Abbey" now is displayed prominently whenever a Power of Provision spell is cast, showing immediately how much Mana was added to the city.
  • Neighborly Help - Removed the shadow on the button to confirm a Neighborly Help chest that was just obtained.
  • Neighborly Help - While loading the city information of another player, a negative time left to help the player back was sometimes displayed. Since we cannot travel back in time, this issue has been resolved.
  • News - Some graphics for news were not loaded properly, resulting in the general parchment image to be shown.
  • Workshops - When simultaneously starting a high amount of workshop productions at once, certain errors could occur, causing the production to start with a slight delay or not at all if the screen was turned off before everything was processed. This will no longer happen.
  • Quests - Solved an issue that could cause event quests to disappear under certain conditions.
  • Spire of Eternity - When displaying the contents of a reward or mystery chest, amounts were not always correctly displayed for certain Enchantment items.

Just an update - The release of Version 1.87 has been postponed until September 9 due to some technical issues.
We have also added a missing balancing change in the above notes.

Thanks for understanding that we are trying to bring the most bug-free version possible!
