Sam saw Sally shrug. Sam sighed, stood, silently surveyed Sally. "So, Sally," Sam said. "Should silence suggest sadness?"
Sally supposed Sam's statement somewhat surrly. "Sam," she said, "silence suggests sadness sometimes."
Sam sighed. "Should Sam smile so Sally sees silence soothing?" Sam suggested.
Sally sighed. "Such smiles seldom suggest sadness," she stated.
So Sam smiled.
